Book Description/Synopsis:
Things in life don’t always go as planned, especially when it comes to certain life events. That was something Julian and Alexia were learning the hard way. Passing away at a young age was something that had caught Julian off guard. Losing touch with her best friend had left Alexia feeling lonely and confused. Both felt alone in two completely different worlds, not sure if they would ever come across someone they could truly trust and depend on. But then one fateful evening, Julian was given the chance of a lifetime to fill an empty void in someone’s life while getting a second chance to live the one he’d lost.
Jennifer’s Review:
*I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review*
This is a story of friendships both past and present. It follows Julian and Alexia, two people looking for the same thing, someone they can call a true friend.
With a life that was cut entirely too short, Julian is given an option at a second chance, with one goal, to befriend Alexia. His decision to go back and help her costs him something he holds dear, but for the opportunity to help someone else with the same dilemma of loneliness as him he doesn’t hesitate in accepting the terms of his return.
As days pass by and life takes people on separate paths sometimes friendships drift apart. This is what happens to Alexia. Friends she’s known most of her life seem to no longer have time for her, leaving her alone. She needs a true friend, someone she can trust, and that someone is Julian.
This is a sweet story that turns tragedies into new and deeper connections of friendship. The characters and their personalities are interesting, but sometimes their interactions with each other seem a little slow and sheltered.
I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading Teen/YA Fiction.
My Favorite Character: I really enjoyed Julian, but I think it’s a tie between him and his friend, James.
My Favorite Heartfelt Moment: When Julian joins Alexia under her willow tree. (I’d love to say more, but I can’t. You’ll have to read it to see what I mean.)
Overall, I give this 4 stars!
