Book Description/Synopsis:
A wave named Roland is afraid that, one day, when he hits the beach, his life will be over. But, when he gets deep, he’s struck by the notion that he’s not just a wave: he’s the whole big, wide ocean!
Jennifer’s Review:
*I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review*
This was a cute book with an adorable storyline. I figured I’d toss it right in and therefore read it as a bedtime story. There were a few parts I found quite strange, but my kids loved it. I have kids aging between two and eleven and my oldest thought it was funny.
I have to admit I’ve always been a fan of Jim Carrey’s acting career, but not all of it is exactly child friendly, so it’s a pleasure to get to introduce him to my children through another means.
The illustrations are detailed and beautiful… except the one will all the eyes floating around; that one was quite creepy to me. But again my kids loved that part and thought it was funny when I had to do a double take to make sure of what I was seeing.
I loved Roland and Shimmer and enjoyed their journey.
Overall, I give this 4 stars!
