When Chloe Swanson, an innocent mid-western college graduate, lands her dream job in New York City, she doesn’t realize what kind of a ride she’s in for.
It doesn’t take long before her boss, the charming and sharp businessman Patrick Collins, deceives her into being part of his plan to land the biggest account of his life.
However, he never expected that he would fall for her. Suddenly, he finds himself trapped between a ruthless billionaire client, who has her own eyes set on Patrick, and his deep affection for the beautiful Chloe.
What follows is a sensual and passionate journey of self-discovery, as Chloe faces the harsh reality of jealousy, love and money in the big city.
Stimulating, amusing and highly arousing, Deceived is a romance that will excite and titillate your senses.
The passion between Chloe and Patrick begins early and keeps you turning the pages.
Chloe is a woman who knows what she wants and once she gets it she savors every kiss. But when you’re younger and hotter than someone else who wants what you have it can only lead to bad things. That bad thing being the rich, powerful, and completely rude Anna.
Patrick is sweet and nurturing and knows exactly how to take care of Chloe. Nothing like spending six months watching a woman from afar to gain prospective on her likes, dislikes, and needs before finally making your move.
This is a fast paced book that felt incomplete when I finished it. There are quite a few punctuation errors; the worst being missing quotations marks on part of the conversations so you have to read it twice and assume which parts were actually said aloud. But even with that, I downloaded book two immediately upon finishing for the pure and simple fact that I hate incomplete stories and wanted to know what happened.
My Favorite Moment: Nothing like a little dress modeling!
First off, I downloaded this book because I am a cover junkie and it caught my attention.
Starting with the Prologue you know this book is going to end badly between Chloe and Patrick, which confused me at first. Why would you tell the ending of the story up front? However, I decided to go ahead and read knowing what was going to happen.
The chemistry between Chloe and Patrick is instant and full of passion. I was a fan of Patrick from the beginning and found myself wanting the book to end differently than the Prologue led on. I liked Chloe’s character because what she kept thinking in her head made me laugh out loud.
This story is very fast paced and short. It seems like the work week was completely skipped over and jumped right into the weekend. I would have loved the first book to be a little longer and introduced the characters a little more. I do not really know anything about Chloe’s roommate as she is not in the story at all except Chloe having to pick her up from the airport. The Baroness is introduced in this book but we do not know a lot of detail about who she is and the story behind her and Patrick.
Overall, I really liked this book. I was drawn in right after the Prologue and didn’t stop reading until the book abruptly stopped.
I will be downloading the other books in the series just for the fact that I have to know how this all ends.
Overall, we both give this 3 stars!
