Book Description/Synopsis:
Olivia Ward always felt second best during a six-year relationship with her now-ex-boyfriend. That is, until she meets Alex Matlock just weeks after her break-up. Sensual and charming, Alex makes Olivia melt, in more ways than one, and he loves to demonstrate—in sizzling, painstaking detail—the way a man should treat a woman.
But once Alex and Olivia embark on their scorching affair, they discover a consuming need that helplessly binds them together. Every day intensifies their relationship and, suddenly, Alex wants to be more than Olivia’s rebound and she longs to give in to him. But the more Olivia learns about Alex and his painful past, the more he seems to close himself off. When a looming threat emerges, the two lovers need to decide if they can be without one another, or if they will surrender their hearts to stay in each other’s arms.
Distractions is the second novella in The Rebound Series after Complications.
Jennifer’s Review:
Even after the end of a long relationship when she should be taking time and having fun Olivia begins to unwillingly fall for her rebound man. She just can’t help how her heart feels; even when it’s breaking it’s still in love with Alex. She lets a lot slide on “I’m sorry” because to her he’s worth it.
Alex isn’t used to someone caring so much for him that she’s willing to give all of herself and he’s scared that he doesn’t deserve her. Which at the rate he keeps messing up maybe he doesn’t. But that doesn’t change the fact that they are in love with each other, even if they aren’t willing to admit it to anyone, not even each other.
I’m not sure how the third book is going to play out, but I sure hope Alex gets his head out of his ass before it’s too late. Olivia deserves the man he can be if he tries. And he better hurry up before creepy texter does something crazy! I cannot wait…bring on book three!
My Favorite Moment of Frustration: No matter what else is going on, once you’ve made up your mind, if you only have 4% battery life left you better send one heck of a quick text, and if you don’t then….
I cannot wait to see how this plays out.
My Favorite Moment: Is it a girl or a boy? Discovering the answer was so funny and in the end he gets Bubbles!
Overall, I give this 4 stars!
