Book Description/Synopsis:

Henry Maximus is a super-hero-loving geek and proud of it. He’s also a genius when it comes to business. It’s how he earned the title of CEO of Maximus Gaming … not to mention the billions of dollars in his bank account. Henry’s tried living the life of a bachelor, but a different girl every night has left him wanting more. Needing more.

Aubrey Vincent is in love with her job. She’ll love it even more if she lands the promotion that gets her out of her parent’s attic. She loves it so much that she has no time for relationships, not that she was ever very good at them to begin with. Aubrey is perfectly happy with the random, nameless men she picks up at the bar.

After a brief encounter with Aubrey on a business trip, Henry packs his bags and moves back to the small town where he grew up. Aubrey’s town. Aubrey attempts to find her way into Henry’s bed, while he tries everything to get into her heart. Will Henry’s plan to break down the walls Aubrey has built around her heart work or will his unbelievable million dollar offer scare her away?

Jennifer’s Review:

*I received this book free from Mark My Words Book Publicity in exchange for an honest review*

A Clark Kent wannabe. A sexy/nerdy man cloaked in superhero apparel with a secret identity. Yep, that describes Henry perfectly, but it doesn’t explain who he is. Henry is a sweet guy who has been in love with a girl since his early school days. A girl who now notices him, but who can’t get over herself enough to get to know him. Oh, but he has just the perfect little wager to fix that.

Aubrey likes being single. She likes losing herself on the dance floor and going home with nameless strangers. She’s never thought twice about why she is the way she is, but all it takes is one nerdy guy with a superhero fetish and a sexy body to keep her mind distracted and her body tuned like a live wire. Why can’t she get this stranger out of her mind? And why does he keep showing up wherever she is? Well maybe he isn’t exactly the stranger she initially thought he was and although she starts enjoying her little run-ins with Henry she soon discovers his alter ego and she’s not too happy.

Can Henry and Aubrey get past the secrets and move forward? Guess you’ll have to read it to find out! But I can tell you it is definitely worth the read. This is a sweet story about growing up and discovering who you are and the importance of having friends and family you can truly count on.

My Favorite Moments: I loved it every single time Henry showed up like a knight in shining armor to rescue the damsel in distress…even if the last thing she wanted was to be rescued.

Overall, I give The Billionaire & The Barfly 4 stars!
