Genre: Paranormal Romance, Urban Fantasy, New Adult

Book Length (Est.): 85 Pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

She wanted life. He needed her blood.

Cora Shaw will do anything to live. Diagnosed with terminal cancer in her senior year of college, she is given a choice: Call hospice, or seek out a mysterious man who promises an impossible—and insanely dangerous—cure.

She knows him only as Mr. Thorne, a reclusive billionaire who seems full of contradictions. A man with strange, impossible powers over her.

A man, she discovers, who is not a man at all.

In the first book of the Aethereal Bonds series, Cora makes a deal with a devil—and gets more than she bargained for.

This 23,000-word book initiates Cora into a world she’s never imagined—and may never escape. It is the first of the Aethereal Bonds series.

Jennifer’s Review:

*I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review*

This is the first book in what looks to be a promising series. Cora Shaw had a plan, she had goals, but what she did not plan for was getting cancer, her treatment not working, or the short timeframe given left to live. When her only option is to sit around and watch the clock of her life countdown to expiration she has no problem accepting an unorthodox alternative, even if she doesn’t realize what she’s gotten herself into.

I can see how Cora is drawn to Mr. Thorne, but me personally, he freaks me out. Anyone who can control your thoughts or actions should be stayed clear of. I understand she wants to do anything to live, but once she understands the extent of what she agreed to, it’s too late.

I look forward to reading book two, Blood Born. I’m quite interested in the relationship between Cora and Mr. Thorne and want to find out where it leads and what her new life will hold in store.

My Favorite Moment: With Mr. Thorne it’s very difficult to know if what happens is done so by his will or if it happened naturally.

“I want you to live, too,” he said, so quietly that I could scarcely hear. “May God have mercy on me.”

And then he kissed me.
