Mindy’s Review:

Unfiltered & Unhinged is the forth book in the Unfiltered series. This book follows Cass on her journey after the shooting that took place at The Coffee Cave that included twelve strangers walking away with a big secret and over 100,000 in cash.

Cass Montgomery feels she has to take care of her twin brother Liam who always seems to find himself in the same kind of trouble. Liam loves to bet on races, but never has the cash to back up his bets. Cass tries to take care of his debts with the money she recently acquired, but Wrex wants something more from Cass. She must make a deal with Wrex and for both her and her brother’s sake she must win the race and the bet.

Wrex is a business man who has a job to do, make money off his sideshows. A one night stand with Cass has him following her and stopping at nothing to make sure Cass races for him to hold up her end of the deal to get Liam out of debt. What Wrex lacks is the ability to really care for anyone. He has bodyguards that like to handle all of his dirty work, including trying to keep Dev away from Cass for good.

Dev is a well known mechanic that can rebuild and fix anything. Anything, including the beaten up Superhawk that Cass has lain at his feet. When Dev takes on the challenge of the rebuild he is a lot more interested in Cass and getting to know her. And he’s determined to make himself and Cass an “us”.

Cass tries to stay away from anything that even smells like a relationship but cannot seem to get Dev off of her mind. The more time they spend together, the more they are drawn to each other. Cass knows she can trust Dev, but does she trust him enough to let him know her secret?

This book is definitely HOT, HOT, HOT. Payge and Jane have brought the sexy and steamy romance back. I know I have said it before but this is a wonderful series. One I will continue to read because once you read one you know you have a commitment to yourself to follow through.

My Favorite Laughable Moment: My all time favorite is when Dev is at the bar trying to drink all thoughts of Cass away, which leads to his man to man “talk” with Baron.

“You’d rather have me beat the hell out of you than tell a girl you lover her.”

My Favorite Detailed Description: “Cute is for puppies and unicorns. Dev is hotter than an active volcano.”

Jennifer’s Review:

Ever since reading Unfiltered & Unlawful (Sasha and Adam’s story) I’ve been waiting to read Cass’s story. I liked her character in the first book and book four, Unfiltered & Unhinged, just brings her to life.

Cass, like many of the others, doesn’t really want the cash she walked away with. She’d rather just forget the entire night ever happened. But when she’s faced with the perfect opportunity to use it, she tries to, but Wrex doesn’t want her money to pay off her brother’s debts. He wants her. And boy oh boy does he have a funny way of showing it.

Dev’s ‘little head’ made him accept the job of fixing Cass’s totaled Superhawk. She stormed into his garage and into his mind with absolutely no resistance on his part. No matter how hard he tried not to think about her, it was no use. One meeting and she already had him.

“And when she did meet his gaze, she found she couldn’t look away. It both excited her and scared the crap out of her.”

But Wrex doesn’t want anyone fixing her bike and he’ll do just about anything to make sure it isn’t fixed in time for the race. He needs to keep the upper hand in order to win the bet he made with Cass or he’ll never get what he wants…her. It would seem that the one night they shared in the past wasn’t enough for him, he wanted more.

As the repairs move forward with her Superhawk Dev keeps coming up with reasons to call or see Cass. He’s enamored with her and he thinks she feels the same. Too bad she wasn’t completely honest about the stakes of the bet she made and too bad he reacts the way he does when he hears the truth. But as always, make-ups are definitely more fun than fights.

This book is sweet, funny, and sexy as hell!

My Favorite Laughable Moment: I have to agree with Mindy on this one. The drunken Dev moment was by far the most hilarious. Absolutely love Baron!

“Don’t make me do this, man. It’s embarrassing.”

My Favorite Moments: I loved it when Dev said he couldn’t do something, but a very determined Cass proved him wrong in the most entertaining way. Way to go Cass!

But my absolute favorite was a tapering argument between Dev and Cass.

And as for why I sad to put on clothes – it makes it hard to fight with you when my dick’s standing at attention.”

“Well, this just became really awkward really fast.”
