Jennifer’s Review:

*I received this book free from Barclay Publicity in exchange for an honest review*

This is a story about angels, demons, and all that lay in between. Like most angel/demon stories, this too is about the balance of Heaven and Hell and how humans play into it. But unlike any other I’ve read, this has a twist… Guardian Gargoyles and a unique blood bond.

Nothing about Eve’s life has ever been normal, but she doesn’t know that. She thought she was a normal college student and demons, angels, werewolves, and other supernatural creatures were only things of books and movies. That all changes after she meets her guardian, Asher, and crazy things start happening.

Asher has taken an oath to protect Eve, but every time he’s close to her his instincts take over and he can’t seem to stop the need to touch her. Breaking his oath would have dire consequences, not only to him but his entire family, but he can’t seem to shake wanting more. This makes him hot and cold, and it sometimes gives Eve whiplash at the extent of how opposite his emotions can be.

All Eve seems to want is Asher, and because of this her faith in him is unwavering. She knows he still holds secrets, but she trusts him to protect her. However, even though it’s forbidden she still wants more. She wants to belong to him.

This is filled with very descriptive characters with unique personalities. Some I loved, like Eve’s best friend, Aria, and Asher’s brother, Callan. Definitely loved Callan! Then there are those characters I couldn’t quite decide if I liked or not, like McKenna and Gage. I’m holding my judgment for them until the next book.

I have to say that I loved the little extras. If you love this book, as I did, you will definitely have to check out the extras on the author’s website (www.randicooleywilson.com). There is a glimpse from Asher’s point of view. You want to know how he really feels then this is a must read. There is also a glimpse from Gage’s point of view, and I have to say that it was definitely a surprise, at least for me. Now I want to read book two even more!

My Favorite Moment: A training session when Asher is frustrated by Eve’s concentration and attempts to push her further. Oops…that didn’t seem to go as planned!
