Review of Seconds Before Sunrise (The Timely Death Trilogy #2) by Shannon A. Thompson

Seconds Before Sunrise

Genre: Paranormal Romance

Book Length (Est.): 265 Pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

Two nightmares. One memory.

“Chaos within destiny. It was the definition of our love.”

Eric has weeks before his final battle when he’s in an accident. Forced to face his human side, he knows he can’t survive if he fights alone. But he doesn’t want to surrender, even if he becomes the sacrifice for war.

Jessica’s memory isn’t the only thing she’s lost. Her desire to find her parents is gone and so is her confidence. But when fate leaves nightmares behind, she decides to find the boy she sees in them, even if it risks her sanity.

Mindy’s Review:

*I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review*

This book picks up exactly where Minutes Before Sunset (The Timely Death Trilogy #1) left off.

Jessica had her memory erased to save the ones she loves.

Eric continues to train for his upcoming battle against Darthon.

Jessica has nightmares that she is unable to understand. She dreams of a boy and a world that feels so real. Her only option is to talk to her friends. But who exactly are her friends? With her memory gone she loses more than she wanted. She is not the same girl as before. The confidence is gone and she only seems to be happy when she is dreaming.

Eric is having a hard time staying away from Jess and risking the chance of her getting her memory back. He must train for the battle that will happen on his eighteenth birthday. When an accident forces him to stay in his human form he must learn to be just as strong as in his shade form.

I’ve said it before and I will say it again. What a breath of fresh air! Shannon absolutely knows how to pull you in and make you feel like you are part of this captivating world. You feel the emotions and struggles along with the characters. You are wishing someone would just drop their guard and tell Jessica the truth, but at the same time understand why things have to be this way. The more I read the more I wanted to read. And as always with a series I was disappointed when the book ended. (It was a great ending by the way.) I can’t wait to get my hands on the final book. I have got to know how this plays out!!

If you are a Young Adult fan and love a book that can make you feel like you are part of the story and part of a different world you have to read this trilogy. I know I love it!

My Favorite Moment: I love when Eric is talking to his guard about Jessica and deciding if he should tell her the truth.

“I don’t know how she’d take all of this at once, especially without proof.”

“So, transform in front of her.”

“And give her a heart attack?” I couldn’t imagine her reaction. “No, thank you.”

“At most, she’d faint.”

My Favorite Heartfelt Moment: Without giving too much away, I will just say that I LOVE the ending.

(You must read the book to find out what is so good about it.)

  1. Thank you for reading Seconds Before Sunrise! I am so glad to hear that you enjoyed book 2. I was working on the content edits of Death Before Daylight (book 3) just last night. Hoping to have it out by the end of this year.
