I honestly think this one was better than the first, but HOLY COW what a way to end it! And the teaser from Redemption at the end left me thinking… Well now that’s gonna be trouble!
Asher still has that lovely hot/cold personality that makes you both love and want to smack him. His emotions strongly affect his mood and if he’s in a bad one you’d better watch out. Of course the same holds true for other intense feelings…
“Siren, when I do mark you again, I expect you’ll be screaming your permission. Perhaps even in the form of: ‘OH GOD. YES!” he says in a love voice that vibrates through to my soul.
I swallow hard. “Christ.” I turn to storm away.
“Oh, and Eve, I promise it will be because you want it.” His words cause me to blush.
Eve knows how she feels toward Asher, but what will happen when she admits it aloud? Will it affect her training, or ascension, or her relationships with her new gargoyle family? All I can say without giving too much away is that this book has all the same things we loved in book one, but so much more.
I still love Callan with his humor, sweetness, and crazy aprons. McKenna still has me on the cusp when it comes to liking her. Now Gage one the other hand has me liking him more and more, which may turn out to be a bad thing. Guess I’ll have to wait and see.
Restraint will hold you hostage through all of the twists and turns until the very last page. It’s captivating and the characters bring the story alive with their sweetness, love, and fierce protectiveness. Loved it! And I cannot wait for the next book, Redemption, to come out.
My Favorite Moment: A certain ‘special’ bed and everything that transpires because of what happens in it.
