This one did not have the humor the first one had. Instead it was filled with a lot of overwhelming and sometimes heartbreaking emotions.
Austin needed a wife, but he sure as hell didn’t want one, so he arranged to have a no-strings-attached kind of marriage. That is until he met his soon-to-be wife and all rational thought kept trying to escape out the window. He wanted her, but he didn’t think he deserved her, so despite the very mutual attraction he kept pushing her away.
Ella needed to escape the paparazzi and her crazy debacle of a love life and in order to completely disappear off the radar she chose escaping to Montana and plunging head first into a marriage that would help her remain hidden. What she didn’t expect was the sexy cowboy who turned out to be her soon-to-be husband. She began rethinking that whole ‘sex is off the table’ thing almost immediately.
The survivor’s syndrome Austin experiences gave this story more of a realistic edge, but also an entirely depressing one. Double edge sword and all. I enjoyed their romance and I loved Ella’s fight to keep what she wanted. The Soldier’s E-Mail Order Bride is a pleasurable combination of sweetness and sadness. It pulls at your heartstrings and leaves you wanting more. Especially when it comes to a certain person and a genetic discovery…can’t wait to see how that all plays out.
My Favorite Laughable Moment: I laughed so hard when Ella and Austin were racing each other on the obstacle course and she started cheering for the Air Force and Navy, when Austin was Special Forces. She definitely got the distraction she wanted, and his reaction was hilarious, of course so was her explanations!
