Review of Stone, At Your Service (Carolina Bad Boys #1) by Rie Warren

Stone

~ ~ Hilariously Sexy! ~ ~

Genre: Romantic Comedy

Book Length (Est.): 291 Pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

Hell on wheels meets Hell in high heels.

Bad boy mechanic Josh Stone likes to get his hands dirty any way he can—the filthier, the better. Ever since his wife walked out on him and their young son, he’s only had room in his heart for two loves: the kid and cars.

Roped into playing his best buddy’s gay boyfriend during a romance writers convention, the player meets the girl who’s gonna rock his world. Leelee Songchild. Shy, bashful, beautiful Leelee who blushes at the drop of a hat yet writes hardcore smut to rival Josh’s backlist of Penthouse Forum.

The only problem is his hands are tied. Josh can’t stab his old friend/fake lover in the back even though all he wants to do is take luscious Leelee to bed, and maybe, love her. When the truth comes out, all hell breaks loose.

Too bad romance is just for books.

Jennifer’s Review:

*I received an ARC of this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review*

It’s been a long time since a book has made me laugh this hard. The interactions between Josh and Nicky and Josh and the guys at the garage were hilarious. Those guys had me rolling from the beginning. Stone, At Your Service has it all: humor, romance, loveable characters, and hot sex. Talk about one hell of a winning combo.

Josh is a single dad who owns his own garage. His two loves, cars and his son. He’s a great guy who is willing to do just about anything for his best friend, including going with him to a writer’s convention as his boyfriend. Thing is, they’re both straight, which makes all of their loving comments and PDA so freaking hilarious.

“Public displays of affection. Asshole. With me.”

“Yeah. Already done it, didn’t I? But just so you know, rimming is off the table.”

“Gotcha,” Nicky said with a wince. Then, not to be outdone, he widened his eyes. “What about tea-baggin’?”

My nuts shriveled up. My voice raised one notch higher. “No balls goin’ anywhere near each other’s mouths. Jesus.”

Downside to pretending to be gay…meeting and falling in love with a woman who thinks you’re gay. He’d never a met a woman like Leelee before and she captivated him completely.

“Happy reading? Was Leelee fucking kidding me? More like horny reading and instant hard-on aided by the fact sometimes shy, sometimes spitfire Leelee had written some seriously kinky shit. At this rate my cock was gonna have an embolism.”

Leelee is a new and upcoming indie author who already had her heart stomped on by a man pretending to be straight. She didn’t need any more drama in her life and a sexy man, who she thought was gay, hitting on her was definitely something she needed to stay away from. Her life had enough of the gay/straight confusion when it came to men. But goodness gracious did he have to be so sexy! And always there!

“No one’s ever made me feel like this. No one’s ever needed me so much before.”

There’s so much I want to say, but don’t want to give away any spoilers. All I can say is: Way to work the catwalk Josh! Holy cow, what an unexpected kiss! And damn I want to see those pictures from the photo shoot! Not to mention, I really want to read Ride.

My Favorite Laughable Moment: There are so many it’s difficult to pick only one, but have to say the story about potty training his son ranked right up there near the top, and so did the BDSM side of the store, but when a drawer full of fake cocks tips and spills that was freaking hilarious.

“There was a wall of butt plugs and ball gags – because I’d have to be gagged to get a plug up my ass.”

My Favorite Moment: The night after the photo shoot… A surprise guest, a meeting between two very important people, and all the office craziness.
