Review of Full Contact (Worth the Fight #2) by Sidney Halston

Full Contact

You’ll be begging as he slowly takes the bases…

Genre: Contemporary Romance, Sports Romance (MMA)

Book Length (Est.): 288 Pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

Sidney Halston returns to steamy Tarpon Springs, Florida, where a hell-raising bad boy prepares to get down and dirty for the woman he loves.

How could she have been so stupid? When Jessica Cross decides to give her violently jealous boyfriend—the otherwise influential and charming Dennis Stavros—a second chance, she very nearly becomes a statistic. After weeks of healing from a broken rib and collapsed lung, and with Dennis behind bars, Jessica finally feels ready to come out of hiding. But will she ever be able to take a chance on love again with someone new?

Mixed martial arts fighter Slade Martin knows he has a bad reputation. Hell, he’s probably earned it. So it won’t be easy to convince beautiful, vulnerable Jessica that she can trust him—that from the moment she walked into his life, she’s been the only one he’s wanted. Powerful and confident, Slade knows he can honor his vow to protect Jessica body and soul. Winning her heart will be another matter . . . but a woman like Jessica is worth the fight.

YAY – Double Review!

I definitely enjoyed this book. It didn’t have as much humor as its predecessor, but it still kept up with the same tension, love, and sex.

Slade has always enjoyed his bad boy image and took full benefit of the women who it attracted, problem now is that he’s attracted to Jessica and it’s not just her body he wants. He wants more. Question is: How does a playboy convince the super sweet and vulnerable Jessica that he wants more? And how will she react when she gets to see his harem of groupies up front and personal?

This book picks up where Slade and Jessica left off in the first one, her recovering from an abusive ex and him taking care of her…if she wants it or not. She brings out his protectiveness.

Jessica is sweet and caring and the things she’s forced to do in this story are heartbreaking. Her ex is psycho and won’t give up until he’s forced to. She’s put into uncomfortable positions that no one should ever have to be in. And all the while she has to deal with all of the emotions that come with loving Slade…including jealousy.

Full Contact is a great sequel to Against the Cage. It has romance, a little suspense, and some hot “right here, right now” sex.

My Favorite Laughable Moment: It was hilarious when the women just started showing up at Slade’s house…while Jessica was there.

“He’s right. I’d totally slap a bitch right now. Damn him.”

My Favorite Moment: The fourth date…and fourth base. LOL!

Slade Martin is a professional cage fighter that has been instructed to never fight again. One more blow to the head could cause permanent damage or death. One thing Slade still has going for him is the ladies. They just fall all over him. Not being one for relationships he is kind of known as the man whore of Tarpon Springs.

Jessica Cross is coming out of an abusive relationship. Slade stood up for her one night and that caused the beating of her life from her fiancé. Lying in a hospital bed with multiple breaks and a collapsed lung she knows she has had enough and deserves much more.

Slade takes care of Jessica and never leaves her side in the hospital or after for that matter. He knows he has some intense feelings and they are well…….foreign. When Jessica agrees to go out on a date with him and the sparks will fly. Trying to be a perfect gentleman, Jessica wants no part of it. She wants what she reads in books, passionate, lustful, out of control sex and she knows Slade can deliver. Falling in love was not supposed to be part of the deal.

I loved reading this book. This is the second book in the Worth the Fight series. Slade is a typical bachelor that loves women, fighting and his friends. The way he is so passionate with Jessica is magical. I love the way Jessica handles herself and does not change for anyone. She can order a big fat steak and dessert and not feel bad. With that being said, when Jessica wants something she is not afraid to speak her mind and she knows exactly what to say to Slade to put him back in his place.

I would not just recommend this book; I am telling you that you have to read it! It’s a great love story about fighting for what you want and hey, a bad ass fighter that falls in love for the first time is really HOT!

My Favorite Laughable Moment: I laughed so hard when Jessica was getting ready for her date with Roger and Slade was trying to show how much he cared for her.

“Ah! I tore my stockings. Fucking stockings! Fuuuccking stooocckings!” she screamed as her climax began to build. “Just wait in the car. Be right out.”

My Favorite Sincere Moment: I was touched when Slade was in the hospital and overheard Jessica talking to her parents.
