Genre: Contemporary Romance
Book Length (Est.): 178 pages
As a teenager, Seth O’Connor went to jail for a crime he had nothing to do with. He took the fall to protect the girl he loved, but the cruel realities of prison hardened him. After doing his time, Seth shuts her out and enlists in the Marines—until his grandmother’s funeral forces him to come home and face Rowan Simmons once again. The woman she’s become puts all his high-school memories to shame, and Seth wants her more than ever. Can he be honest about why he denied her for so long?
After Seth pushed her away, Rowan swore that no man would ever hurt her again. But the boy who broke her heart has become a sexy Marine, capable of fulfilling her every desire—and now that he’s back in town, old feelings are simmering to a boil. Rowan wants to stay strong, even as her body surrenders to his expert touch. She only hopes that by taking him back, she can finally help heal the wounds that drove them apart.

Seth O’Connor is in love with his best friend’s sister. He has everything going for him until he ends up at the wrong place at the wrong time. Learning to race cars and taking the fall for a crime that he did not commit just to save the girl he loves will change his life forever. Being in prison makes him hard and makes him put the blame on the one person he was trying to protect.
Rowan Simmons loves Seth more than anything. They really have the perfect relationship until the night that changed everything. She really tries to be there for both Seth and her brother while they are in prison. Seth completely shuts her out and asks her to never come and see him again. This will cause the never ending grudge to start.
After completing his prison time he is sent to the Marine Corp. Fast forward seven years and they will finally come face to face with each other. Returning home when his grandmother passes away, Seth has one thing on his mind. Apologize and get his girl back.
Oh, where do I start? Rowan is by far my least favorite character of all time. I did not think I was going to be able to finish reading this but once you start you really want to know how this will end for all involved. The writing was good, the storyline was very interesting. With that being said Rowan has the biggest grudge against Seth and no matter what he says or does she will not even give him a chance, unless it is in the bedroom. She is hurt and feels betrayed by the one person that she stood beside until he pushed her away. The only thing that really bothered me is she holds this grudge (an almost brutal one) until the end of the book not once thinking about what Seth went through for something he had no part in. Talk about a never ending grudge! I wanted to jump through my Kindle and shake some hate out of her. However Rowan’s body does not feel the same way and she will fall into bed with him every chance she gets. As for the ending I feel it was a bit rushed after finally letting go of the never ending grudge.
