Sweet & Charming

Genre: Contemporary Romance, Sports Romance (Hockey)

Book Length (Est.): 249 Pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

The rugged men of the Carolina Cold Fury hockey team are winning hearts once again in another scorching novel from New York Times bestselling author Sawyer Bennett.

The stakes have never been higher for Carolina Cold Fury goalie Ryker Evans. With his contract running out, he’s got a year left to prove he’s still at the top of his game. And since his wife left him, Ryker has been balancing life as a pro-hockey star and a single parent to two daughters. Management is waiting for him to screw up. The fans are ready to pounce. Everybody’s taking dirty shots—except for the fiery redhead whose faith in Ryker gives him a fresh start.

As the league’s only female general manager, Gray Brannon has learned not to mix business with pleasure. And yet even this tough, talented career woman can’t help breaking her own rules as she gives Ryker everything she’s got. She hopes their hot streak will last forever, but with Ryker’s conniving ex plotting to reclaim her man, the pressure’s on Gray to step up and save a tender new love before it’s too late.

Ryker is a single father because his ex cheated and chose her new lover over taking care of their daughters, but with a little help he’s gotten quite good at taking care of them and balancing in his career. What he didn’t have time for was falling for Cold Fury’s new general manager. Trying to balance his daughters, his career, and keep a relationship with a woman he’s falling in love with a secret really wears on him.

All Gray ever wanted to do was hockey. She even made it to the Olympics as a goalie, winning both a silver and gold medal. Getting appointed as the new GM was a dream come true, but then she fell for Ryker. Talk about a conflict of interest. Especially when many on the team hate the fact them have a woman GM. But one thing they both learn, sometimes following your heart is even better than following your dreams and sometimes you just have to make a leap of faith and be content no matter where the cards may fall.

I have really enjoyed all of the Cold Fury Hockey books and this is one of my favorites. From drama to suspense to passionate love story Ryker has a little bit of everything.

My Favorite Laughable Moment: Let’s just say this book starts out perfectly. I love it when I begin a story and am laughing before the first chapter is over. Ryker, poor Ryker, and the thin line he has to walk between a daughter who loves bugs and an almost hysterical dislike for them…especially spiders.

My Favorite Moment: If you’re going to make your relationship known to the world, Gray sure knows how to do it with flair.

Ryker Evans is the goalie for the Cold Fury hockey team. He has a lot riding on him at this time in his life. Being at the top of his game his contract is almost up and he is a single father to two precious little girls. Trying to balance his career and personal life has not been easy.

Gray Brannon is making history. Being a goalie herself she knows more about hockey than any woman out there and she has just landed the job of a lifetime. Becoming the new GM of the Carolina Cold Fury she is about to take some nasty shots to her confidence.

This is the fourth book in the Carolina Cold Fury series. It pretty much picks up where the third on left off. Ryker is now raising his two girls on his own after a little bit of help getting started. He is one of the hottest goalies out there and everyone is just waiting for his temper to screw it up. The one person that has all the confidence in the world is the one person that Ryker should stay away from.

Mixing business with pleasure will prove to be one of Ryker’s and Gray’s biggest challenge. With the team unsure of a female GM and the management team unsure of Ryker and his temper things really start to heat up, on and off of the ice.

I said this with the last book and I will say it again, even if you are not a hockey fan you will love this series! The chemistry and the intensity between the characters is scorching.

My Favorite Moment: I really loved how this book started out. I was laughing so hard by the time the first chapter ended, I was completely and totally hooked!
