Review of Wild Bear by James D. Horton

Wild Bear

Ex-Military Werebear…yes please!

Genre: Paranormal Romance, Shifter Romance (werebear)

Book Length (Est.): 54 Pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

His rage may be to hot to handle…

Laura loves the woods, nature, and rock climbing is her passion. She’s free spirited and likes her life of no commitments and no strings attached. Always looking for the next challenge of her skills. She’s not looking for trouble or love but when she comes across three men deep in the woods both come looking for her.

Joe lives alone deep in the woods. Haunted by his past he patrols his lands where he wants nothing more than to be left alone. He doesn’t tolerate trespassers. He isn’t looking for love or trouble either, just peace and quiet. He wants to keep his secrets and be left alone.

When Joe comes across trespassers in his territory the guns they carry are the least of the danger. The greatest danger is Laura herself, who’s about to steal his heart. Together they will face danger both physical and emotional as they find they need each other not just to survive, but to fill the voids in their hearts.

Be aware this is a sexy, fun and short romance! *Standalone*

Jennifer’s Review:

*I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Joe is an ex-military were-bear who doesn’t like trespassers and he certainly doesn’t like it when he’s the one they’re hunting.

Laura loves to climb, it’s her peace in life, but when she stumbles upon three scary men her peaceful wilderness retreat isn’t exactly the place she wishes she was any longer. Luckily a gigantic man shows up to save the day, and even though he’s larger than any man she’s ever seen she knows he’s safe and would rather spend  the night with him than risk running into those crazy men once again.

An instant attraction that cannot be denied leads to a night of passion neither will soon forget. But when they go on a hike and a sight of beauty turns into one of death and…a scary raging bear she runs before her brain can process everything she’d just witnessed. Too bad that decision lands her in the hands of the last men she ever wanted to see again.

As always, James Horton gives us another action packed, fast paced, short story that keeps you hanging onto every word and completely sad when it ends entirely too soon.

“Joe, this is crazy. Absolutely nuts but…I’m in love with you.”

Wild Tiger and Wild Bear may be read as standalones, but with a common enemy like Xanadau I’d prefer to read them all in order. If you just want a quickie action packed romance you could definitely read  them individually, but personally I like the bigger picture and want to see what else is to come. Especially with the way this one ends. Joe is determined to get his brothers back and Laura is bound to help him.

My Favorite Moment: Laura is one feisty woman. She’ll refuse to leave her love and instead do something to save him. Way to go, Laura!
