A Little Heart Therapy
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Book Length (Est.): 354 Pages
For fans of Linda Lael Miller and Diana Palmer comes Laura Moore’s breathtaking final installment in her Silver Creek contemporary romance series.
The youngest of the three Knowles siblings, Quinn has in her blood the love of the land and its beautiful creatures. Raising enough money to build an animal sanctuary is a dream Quinn lives every day—while fending off her family’s well-intentioned matchmaking schemes. Though harboring secret fears about intimacy, Quinn soon realizes she cannot fight her growing attraction to a man who has suddenly entered her life.
Scarred by his months in Afghanistan and the violence he witnessed there through his camera lens, photojournalist Ethan Saunders throws himself into hard ranching work as a prescription for healing. But falling for Quinn has given him the one thing he thought he’d lost forever: hope. Ethan discovers that Quinn, like the innocent animals she rescues, is shy, and afraid of entrusting her heart to a man. Passion soon awakens Ethan’s strength, and his tender seduction may be just what Quinn needs to believe in herself—and in his love.

Quinn is super sweet, but beneath that beauty and smile that most people see is a woman with a sad secret. She fears intimacy and the men who’ve had front row seats to her reluctance usually had unkind things to say making her believe she was in fact a frigid tease. Only one person has made her feel tingles with a simple touch. Ethan.
Ethan lost his passion for almost everything the day the Humvee he was in exploded, killing everyone but him. He wanted to escape life and in doing so he found more than he’d ever have expected. He found Quinn. And her animals.
Once Touched is a sweet story about finding the courage to find yourself and about finding love when and where you least expect it.
The story was kind of slow to me. It’s not that nothing happened, it was just a slower pace than I’m used to. It’s the build up to get to where you’re enjoying Quinn and Ethan that seems to take forever. Maybe it’s the fact that there’s so much happening in the story with other characters that it’s difficult to focus on only one thing. It is however still a nice storyline. Ethan’s initial snarkiness mixed with Quinn’s super niceness is quite the interesting read.
My Favorite Moment: Ethan’s first job on the ranch was filled with both humor and sexual tension. Loved it!
