Therapy never felt so good…
Genre: Contemporary Romance, Military Romance
Book Length (Est.): 229 Pages
In this tender military romance from the bestselling author of Hold on Tight—perfect for fans of of Jill Shalvis and Susan Mallery—a war-shattered veteran gets a second chance at love with the one that got away.
No girl can resist a man in uniform—especially if that man is Nate Riordan. But after an injury in the line of duty leaves Nate broken, body and soul, the soldier finds himself addicted to his pain meds, with no place to call home. Desperate for an escape, Nate reluctantly accepts a friend’s invitation to a new veterans’ retreat. Expecting a little R&R, Nate is shocked when the sight of his physical therapist opens up another old wound: heartbreak.
Years ago, Alia Drake fell hard for Nate, but never made her move. Instead, she set up her sister with the sexy, confident military man, a foolish decision that continues to haunt all three of them. Now, with Nate as her patient, she can make things right—even if it means getting too close for comfort. A healing touch and a little honesty work wonders, fueling a physical intimacy that crosses professional boundaries. This time, with desire in the air once more, Alia won’t hold anything back.

Alia gets pleasure out of feeling needed and feeling like she’s helping people, it’s why she went into therapy. But when the one man she’s wanted since the day she met him ends up on her massage table how can she maintain the line between professionalism and desire? Her body can’t, but her head sure does try.
Nate was interested in Alia since day one, but when she backed off and pushed her sister in his direction he took the bait. Only problem is that when he was deployed overseas…it wasn’t exactly his girlfriend who was writing him…it was Alia. Feeling completely broken and betrayed he put as much distance as he could between himself and the sisters who’d shattered his heart. But when he came back injured and needed help Alia was the one with the magic hands and ability to help his pain disappear, too bad she couldn’t also make their past disappear.
Overcoming betrayal to find what they both need isn’t as easy as one would think. They have obstacles, like her being his therapist and the odds of losing her job, but when they let loose on the fire between them then nothing else matters.
“I was planning to love you whether you wanted me to or not.”
Can’t Hold Back is a story about getting past yourself in order to be open to the possibility of more. A wounded vet having to deal with survivor’s guilt and a physical therapist who will have to learn she’s good enough to get the guy. It’s a heartwarming story and I enjoyed it very much. I look forward to seeing what else this series may bring.
My Favorite Moment: The mystery delivery for Alia. I laughed so hard over her reluctance to open it.
