Review of Wild Wolf by James D. Horton

Wild Wolf

One Wild Ride

Genre: Paranormal Romance, Shifters (werewolves)

Book Length (Est.): 63 Pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

Sometimes you have to lose it all to find what you really need…

Dakota just wants to make a difference. She lost everything when she was young and now she wants to give back. She’s driven to make a difference in the world. Her focus on helping others makes it easy to ignore the empty loneliness inside. No one gets close to her and those that do have a hard time dealing with her need to control.

Luke is a dark stranger with a past. He’s given up on the world around him and has no hope for change, hiding from his past but still driven to look out for those weaker than himself. He controls his territory and keeps his head down until she’s thrust into his life. He knew her parents and secrets she’s been searching for her whole life.

A chance meeting and the sparks fly. His past and hers collide and connect in unexpected ways. They’re drawn to each other by the past and the possibilities of the future.

The more she gets to know the man she’s falling desperately hard for, the more his past and hers intertwine and it revolves around her dead father. She should’ve listened when Luke warned her about how dangerous digging into the past is, but now it’s too late. She’ll have to decide whether to return to her safe life or to stay and fight for the man she loves.

Be aware this is a sexy, fun and short romance! *Standalone*

Jennifer’s Review:

*I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Dakota has the hearts of the less fortunate is mind, but reality doesn’t agree with best laid ideas. It’s her need to do good that lands her in a bad part of town with gang-bangers chasing her. Luckily a handsome stranger intervenes and saves her, but then he also introduces her to all the reasons her idea to better the neighborhood won’t work. She might see his side, but her determination to make changes somewhat blinds her to other views.

Luke seems kind of arrogant at first, but it doesn’t long to see his softer side. He’s drawn to Dakota, just as she is to him, but he knows why and she doesn’t.

“… I want to explore this, I want to explore you and you don’t get to walk away from me. Not for my protection, not for yours, not for any reason. this is us and we’ll deal with it as us.”

Luke and Dakota’s paths have been tangled together much longer than either knew, but once they discover their connection it only makes it that much stronger. She’ll learn who she really is and he’ll learn sometimes all you need is family.

Wild Wolf is a standalone, but the underlying enemy is the same as in Wild Tiger and Wild Bear so I’d suggest reading all of them. These are all quickie action packed romances that will have you drawn in and cursing the moment they’re over…which in my opinion is always too soon.

My Favorite Moment: I really liked it when Dakota decides to summon her inner warrior to keep the man she loves safe. She’s definitely not someone you should make mad.
