Review of Drive (Hot Rides) by Sidney Bristol

Drive

Drive fast, Fall hard!

Genre: Thriller & Suspense

Book Length (Est.): 384 pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

Blazing Miami sun. Cool classic cars. Dangerous undercover assignment. In Sidney Bristol’s scorching new Hot Rides series, the cars are fast and the romance is furious…

Aiden DeHart has a history–and secrets. His classic car garage is a front for an FBI operation. His current mission: get some evidence from a drug dealer’s ex-wife, then get out. Madison Haughton sending his engine into overdrive isn’t part of the plan, though, especially considering she might not be as innocent as Aiden thought…

Since her divorce from her sleazeball ex, Madison has sworn off bad boys, gotten some sweet tattoos, and become a star of Miami’s roller derby scene. But however fast she skates, her ex is always on her tail. When the sexy guy in the muscle car offers to help, he could be her ticket to safety–or a detour down a deadly road…

Mindy’s Review:

*** I have received an ARC of this book free from Netgalley on behalf of Kensington in exchange for an honest review. ***

Aiden DeHart owns a classic car garage that is a front for the FBI. Aiden’s mission is to get evidence from a drug dealer’s ex-wife and get out. With other issues on his tail his life turns very dangerous for all involved.  One look at Madison and his engine purrs to life.

Madison Haughton is recently divorced and has sworn off bad boys. Becoming the star of her roller derby team seems to get her on the right track to her own happiness.  One look at Aiden and she knows for a fact that he is absolutely a bad boy. Aiden is honest with her about what he wants from her and that he is going to protect her from her ex-husband. What Madison does not know is that she is in deeper than she thinks.

The chemistry between Aiden and Madison is instant. They know they are not good for each other but their body tells them differently. Once the secrets are out they work pretty well as a team.  I thought this book started off really slow but once I really got into the story it was full of surprises.

Mindy 3.5 Star
