Review of This One Moment (Pushing Limits #1) by Stina Lindenblatt

This One Moment

Loving A Rock Star

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Book Length (Est.): 258 Pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

Fame, fortune, and stadiums full of screaming fans are right around the corner for the rock band at the heart of Stina Lindenblatt’s steamy, intense Pushing Limits series. But it’s an epic love affair that steals the show in this opening act.

When Nolan Kincaid skipped town to chase the music career of his dreams, he knew he wouldn’t miss the reminders of his broken family—he wasn’t so sure he could forget the girl he left behind. Now his band is touring nonstop, the recording sessions go all night, and the groupies are crazed. But when he hears that Hailey Wilkins is in trouble, he drops everything.

Hailey thought she’d missed her chance with Nolan. Five years ago, the moment she realized she loved him was the moment he decided to leave. Now, when a brutal assault lands her in the ICU, Nolan flies straight to her bedside, acting like nothing’s changed. What’s a rock star like him doing, canceling shows and risking his record deal, just to nurse an old friend back to health? And why should Hailey believe he’ll stay this time?

With her attacker still at large, Nolan’s ready to rise to the occasion. He knows he let Hailey down once before, but he’s ready to give her everything, heart and soul—and he’ll fight for the chance to prove it.

Jennifer’s Review:

*I received an ARC of this book free from Random House Publishing Group – Loveswept via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*

Nolan had a childhood trauma and fled his hometown and everyone in it just to escape it. All of his focus went into his career and he’d made the big time. But no matter how big he became or how far he went there was a hole that couldn’t be filled, because he’d never forgotten the one who held his heart, and he carried her around with him always.

Hailey had her heart broken when Nolan left town. He’d been her best friend forever and she’d fallen for him, but never got a chance to tell him before he disappeared from her life completely. She’d tried to move on, but she’d lost faith in men along the way.

Once Nolan decides he wants something he takes it, even when it comes to a place to stay, and no one can tell him otherwise. He pretty much comes back to town with a vengeance and protecting Hailey is second nature to loving her…whether she knows it or not.

This One Moment is a mixture of love story and suspense. It’s about a childhood friendship that became more, and an attempted murderer on the loose. Bet you won’t guess who it is…I know I didn’t. The storyline has a few twists and turns that keep it moving at a good pace, but the flashbacks (even though I understand the need for them) started to get a little old. I’m not sure if it was they way they were added in or just the frequency of them.

My Favorite Moment: I liked the way Nolan chased after what he wanted with Hailey and I liked it even more when she gave in.

“Are you sure, Forget-Me-Not? If we do this, everything will change between us. Is that what you want?”
