Nothing Like A Little Inspiration

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Book Length (Est.): 247 Pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

Welcome to Panic, a sultry Miami nightclub where bodies and hearts move to a beat that doesn’t stop at sunrise—the setting for an emotionally charged series from the bestselling author of the Worth the Fight novels.

When Katherine Wilson passes out in the arms of the hottest man she’s ever seen, it’s not because of the lights, the pulsating music, or the crowded dance floor. It’s because she can’t enjoy a night out like a normal person, not with her debilitating anxieties. These panic attacks are going to destroy her life unless she takes control—or gets a helping hand. So after the club’s bad-boy owner personally escorts her home, Katherine feels something urgent and primal awaken inside of her.

Nick Moreno doesn’t need a headache like Katherine. A drug bust has put his father behind bars and forced Nick to take over the daily business of his family’s South Beach nightclub. His head tells him to walk away—but his body has other ideas. Katherine’s vulnerability, her grace and courage, compel him to reach out. And when they kiss, Nick is overcome by desire: to pull her close, and promise that his embrace will always be the safest place on earth.

Nico and his brother own Club Panic. They took over the club after their father went to prison and have now turned it into one of the best night clubs in town. They do not deal with any nonsense in their club. So when they find a woman that has passed out in the bathroom Nico just knows that she is on drugs and cannot wait to get her out of his club. Having an ex-girlfriend that was a drug addict left Nico with a disgust when it comes to people using drugs.

Katherine suffers from PTSD and Anxiety from a tragedy that she suffered years ago. The only reason that she agreed to leave her house this time was for her sister. Being in a club really takes its toll on her and it seems that her medicine is just not working this time. As she goes to the bathroom she realizes she is having a full on anxiety attack. Good thing the bouncers are close by.

Nico does not want anything to do with Katherine but the urge to watch over her is strong. When he finally understands what is going on with her he decides that she needs a friend and he is more than willing to be that friend. Nico pushes her boundaries and makes her want to try to get better. Not only for him but for herself.

This was a great read for me. I truly understand the struggle with anxiety and it can make life very difficult. Reading Katherine’s story really pulls at the heart strings. Knowing she has a great man by her side and friends that she can count on really helps in her healing process.

I really hope that Matt has his own book coming up. I really want to read his story.

Katherine does not make the best of first impressions. As a matter of fact Nick wants to stay as far away from her as possible.

Nick’s opinion of Katherine isn’t good at all, but part of him wants to believe her. It’s that little part that has him showing up at her door again and again. He wants to help her fix herself. He wants to be there for every milestone she crosses back into the world.

Katherine’s panic attacks are so bad that leaving her apartment isn’t even an option on most days, but after meeting Nick she wants to. She wants to get better, and she tries, but some days are bigger set backs than they are moves forward.

I loved how supportive and creative Nick could be. The incentives, the last minute arrangements, he was fantastic in his patience…until he wasn’t. He gets a scary glimpse into how Kathrine must feel and it turns his entire world around. After being put through the scariest thing in his life he’ll finally understand the root of all things Katherine. And she’ll be willing to face every fear she has in the face of tragedy.

Pull Me Close had me laughing, my heart quickening, and at times my eyes leaking. It’s a wonderful read and I cannot wait for book two.

Speaking of book two… Although Nick and Katherine do have a HAE this book does end on a cliffhanger. It left my mind racing with possibilities, ones I cannot wait to see if are correct.
