Review of Breaking the Ice (Ice Breaker Series #1) by Summer Bryant

“Talk to me.”

Genre: Sports Romance

Book Length (Est.): 134 Pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

Hannah built her career on the tenets of hard work and avoiding any relationship with the sports superstars she meets on the job. But, for the successful sports reporter some things are easier said than done, especially where sinfully handsome Jake Wilson is concerned.

Jake has two loves in life – his young son and his career. Serious relationships will only complicate his life, and he’s not willing to make that sacrifice. Hannah, though, is proving to be hard to resist.

As their mutual attraction grows and a friendship forms between Hannah and Jake’s young son, will temptation get the better of them? Are either of these hardworking career-driven individuals ready for a chance at true love?

**Breaking the Ice is a standalone sports romance novel with a bit of steam, a HEA ending and no cliffhanger.**

Jennifer’s Review:

*I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Hannah wants to be the top sports reporter and she’s given up a social life in order to achieve her dreams, but there’s one person who wants her to let him in. But risking everything she’s done doesn’t come easy to her.

Jake has the reputation of the standard hockey star ho, but he wants more with Hannah, too bad he doesn’t know how to make her see past his reputation. He’ll invite her into his and his son’s lives without even a second thought, but when it comes to convincing her that she belongs there he’ll be up against some major road blocks.

I wanted to love this, but with only the occasional glimpse of character depth and the fast pasted storyline it felt incomplete. And the way it ended…ugh! But the storyline is good. If you want a quickie romance read then this is for you, but if you want to be pulled into the story then I’d pass.
