Jennifer’s Review:

*I received an ARC of this book free from Barclay Publicity in exchange for an honest review.*

Hello, love triangle! And hello, webs of betrayal!

Isabelle’s life changed when she was young and a virus took over. It gave way for the vampires to take over and herd the humans into their cities. The enforced marriages and mating of all women of child-bearing age. She was lucky and got matched with someone she actually liked, but shortly after their marriage he began to change…becoming addicted to the vampire’s bite, and getting in way over his head. It’s about here the story begins and it’s also when Isabelle’s life takes a completely different route.

“Next time, I strip for you, and we won’t have an audience.”

Roke is a vampire who was charged with keeping an eye over Isabelle. For years he’s watched her without her knowledge. He fell for her without ever having said a word to her. Then he has to step out of the shadows and protect her from other vampires who want her. He’s in love with her and would never let anything happen to her, but if he could also make her fall for him then everything would be perfect.

“Okay, let’s go to my place.”

“I wish you said that under different circumstances and that you appeared happier about it.”

Isa groaned. “Do you ever stop flirting?”

“With you? No. Us vampires have great endurance.”

She grinned reluctantly. “Awful. Just awful.”

He smiled, a wicked gleam in his eyes. “But you liked it.”

Alex is human and pretty much falls for Isabelle the moment she steps onto his boat. He has no problem stepping up every time Roke steps back. He wants to teach her, protect her, and love her, but he knows how she feels about Roke and he doesn’t want to be a third wheel.

“Last thing I want to do is hurt anyone, especially you.”

“Why especially me?”

“You know why.”

“Say it. I need to hear it. You have no idea how much I need to hear it.”

“Why?”

“Because you fucking slept with Roke.”

Tensions get hot between these three at times and oh how it makes for a really good read. They are both alpha males who flirt endlessly, sometimes to the point where all you can do is laugh. Too bad she can’t pick them both!

On top of their little love triangle, you have people trying to kidnap Isabelle, you have ones who just plain want her dead and are trying to kill her, and you have a tangled web of lies and betrayals that will keep you glued to the pages. Although I did receive an ARC that wasn’t completely edited and had an occasional typo Blood Will Tell was a suspenseful read that kept my interest throughout the entire book and left me ready for book two. I cannot wait to see what happens next.
