LISBETH RITTENHOUSE keeps her head down and works hard—she has goals, and nothing is going to stop her from achieving them—especially not a sexy Irishman. Because she knows that relationships only lead to trouble, and she’s had enough of that to last a lifetime.
AIDAN KEARNEY lands in the small town of Beekman Hills, New York desperate to outrun the grief of losing his brother. Hoping to find serenity, he spends his days slinging drinks in a small pub instead of behind his camera capturing the beauty he saw before his brother’s death.
It’s not peace he finds when a gorgeous redhead, whose baggage rivals his own, tumbles into his life.
Aidan is hooked…
But when things get tough, will they let their past insecurities win?
Or will they beat the odds, and fight for what they both want?
A CHANCE AT TRUE HAPPINESS
*I received this book free from Barclay Publicity.*
Lis had gotten her heart broken in the most hurtful way possible…finding her boyfriend with her sister on Christmas. After that she pretty much alienated herself from her family. Luckily she had Gracyn, the most awesome best friend a girl could have. She spends all her time working and going to school, leaving no time for things like men.
“I’m lost in him, lost to him.”
Aidan went home to Ireland when his brother got sick, but once he passed away he ran away from everything. He ending up working for Francie, at an Irish Pub, in the States. Which is where he met Lis for the first time. He was interested from the beginning, but Francie warned him to leave her alone.
“So, what does that mean, I have the luck of the Irish?”
Aidan has to be the most patient man in the world. He cares about Lis so much that he doesn’t even complain about her hectic schedule and even gives her the time she needs. He also insists on helping her too. Nothing like a hot boyfriend and a marker to help you learn parts of the human body.
Of course there has to be that one person to ruin everything and that person is Lorna. You can kind of see it coming, but you don’t get the full impact until it actually happens.
Troubles is a sweet romance where two broken hearts learn to truly love.
It’s a good story, it’s written well, and the characters are all interesting. I’m looking forward to seeing what comes next in the Beekman Hills series.
