2020 Year End

2020 has definitely been a year for the record books. As I am sure that each and every person has been effected differently the fact that everyone has been effected is the one thing we all have in common. Some of our favorite locally owned businesses have closed, never to be reopen again. Some of the things we have taken for granted, like eating inside a fast food restaurant, have gone away for most. Visiting friends and loved ones has become a question of ‘should we risk it?’. Education has taken on new ways of learning, including more distance learning than ever before. All of these ‘social distancing’ rules and regulations are making me long for a time when a hug was as natural as a handshake.

Personally, I’ve lost several loved ones this years. None to Covid. I lost my sister to a drug overdose. Since then I’ve come to learn how big of a thing drug awareness is and how many people are effected each and every year. I lost one of my favorite aunts to natural causes, an uncle to liver damage, aka alcoholism, and an ex-sister-in-law to pneumonia…not the cancers we expected to one day lose her to. For me, it has been an extremely long year.

Stay Positive! That’s my one rule for myself. I try to find the positive in every situation. Sometimes it may be a little more difficult than others, but what I have learned is that there is always a positive. If you cannot find yours, ask someone to help you. Sometimes beneath all the negativity it may be hard to find your own positives.

Cheers to 2021. May this year be better than the last and bring you everything you need.

Love – Jenn

P.S. The featured image associated with this post is from many years ago. It signifies friendship, and the fact that we all did this for Mindy’s birthday. Everyone needs friends like this!
