She doesn’t believe in love.

The controversial, promiscuous lead singer of the all-female hard rock band Hecate’s Fury, Cyn has vowed never to commit to one man. She’s also a Shadow-walker, whose Wolfsangel rune binds her to werewolves.

When a werewolf mysteriously dies in her bed after a BDSM session, she tries to hunt down his killer. It’s no easy task since the werewolf had a lot of enemies within his pack and a rival one.

Even her unrestrained heart can be captured.

Two charming, handsome werewolves vie for her attentions. Both are suspects. As the clues lead to a shocking discovery connected to her past, Cyn realizes she is tied to these werewolves by more than her mystical rune. Even if she opens her heart to love, werewolves are monogamous. She is not.

Jennifer’s Review:

*I received this book free from the author.*

Cyn is the lead singer of Hecate’s Fury. Her onstage persona is that of a dominatrix, but what others don’t know is that she actually is a domme off stage too. The girl likes to live above her means, she has personal reasons why, and needed the extra income. So hello, Mistress Cherry Poptart. The one guy she bonded with and felt a connection to she allowed in her home, where no others had been allowed, and it was there in her bed where he died. Talk about the unexpected…he died only partly human, with a werewolf claw instead of a hand. Eddie was the first werewolf she’d seen and she hadn’t even realized it until he was already dead. That Wolfsangel rune on her suddenly felt like a tingly beacon.

With the need to find Eddie’s killer Cyn found herself in werewolf territory and surrounded by more than one suspect.

Henry, Eddie’s brother, has secrets of his own that he wants to stay buried with his brother who seemed to be blackmailing him. Lucius, a wolf belonging to a rival pack, had many reasons of his own to want him dead. Not to mention Eddie’s mate, who thought he had been having an affair. And everything seemed to be leading to one secret box that Cyn held the key to.

With so many stories and mysteries Cyn wasn’t sure who or what to believe, but she did know that for some reason she trusted Lucius. Right up until she got between him and Henry and ended up in the hospital. An accident that brought two men together for the sake of one. It was also a turn for the packs and for Cyn’s heart.

“Mierda, he’s sexy and arrogant, Cyn. I think you’ve met your match.”

Awakening the Wolf is one hell of an intriguing journey filled with suspense and romance. It takes rock star Shadow-Walkers into a werewolf world filled with costume parties, secrets, and some steamy hot sex. It will have you wondering who killed Eddie and why, and if you are like me you will never guess it right. I was surprised and that made it all the better.

So far each book in the Shadow-Walkers series is unique. Each band member with their own rune and own destiny, yet part of that destiny keeps them linked together. I cannot wait to see where else this series takes me.
