The Shadow-walkers series books can be read in order or not. Each story is a standalone one. (Each book leads into the next…I’d strongly recommend reading them in order. ~Jennifer)

Jennifer’s Review:

*I received this book free from the author.*

Jessie is a guitarist in Hecate’s Fury and she’s the third to get her rune powers. None of them wanted these powers, or the runes tattooed on them, but sometimes you cannot fight fate.

Jessie knows Death is hunting her and it makes her do things to distract herself, but when those distractions bring death, and the man she thought was Death saves her, she’ll learn her rune didn’t mean Death after all. Instead she will be thrown into a world with witches, vampires, and a goddess.

Merrick is a dhampir, and a hunter. He’s usually on the opposite side of Shadow-Walkers, but Jessie intrigues him, and he cannot stay away from her. It’s through him she learns more about her rune and Shadow-Walkers in general. Things like each will have a mate, and hers just happens to be a dhampir who took a vow of celibacy. Yay for her! LOL! But it is fun to watch her try to seduce him.

“Even though I didn’t like the change, he’d brought something into my life, something I didn’t even know I’d been missing – passion.”

Awakening the Vampire adds another supernatural layer to the Shadow-Walkers series. In each book they learn more and more about what they are and each one brings new intriguing supernatural creatures. I enjoy the variety of not knowing where their journey will lead to next, and I love how each story ends with a vision of whose powers will awaken next. It keeps me wanting to read more.

However, on the downside, it could have used a little bit more suspense. Every time something bad happened the rescue happened almost immediately. And Anna…she has some secrets I hope someone will learn soon. I don’t like her at all!

Happy Reading Y’all!

Inspired by the book (You cannot have a book about rock stars and not have a little music to go with it.):
