She’s the most powerful Shadow-walker…and the most vulnerable.

Dina, the wild, strong-willed drummer for Hecate’s Fury and wearer of the Gateway rune, is thrust back in time where she meets a tall, handsome faery king. Beneath all the beauty of the aes sidhe city lurks a dark, menacing danger, and nothing is as it seems. She may be the only one to help them, but the cost to her is high.

Beware a kiss in moonlight.

Roan may be the only male to tame Dina’s restless spirit, the king’s cold nature both enticing and challenging. However, another covets her Shadow-walker and bruja powers. The rival’s obsession is relentless, his magic difficult to resist, even for a Shadow-walker.

Past and present collide as both males vie for her. Only the power of love and sacrifice can unite her with her true mate.

Jennifer’s Review:

*I received this book free from the author.*

Dina is known and the wild drummer. She loves Marvel and DC characters so much they are everywhere from her tattoos to her boy short undies. What she isn’t is girly and when she finds herself cast back in time and forced to wear gowns that had to be laced up by someone else she was a little out of her element. She knew it had to do with her Shadow-Walker abilities, but she had no idea how she was supposed to save a fae race from extinction, or how to deal with the fact her mate was the King and he belonged in the past while she belonged in the future.

Roan knew his people were dying and he trusted his Druids to help him fix it, but one had ulterior motives and tried to force a prophecy. What his people don’t know is that they’re not the only ones dying. A good king goes down with the ship, so to speak. He never expected for his sister’s vision to come true, for him to find his dark haired love, but saving his people is something he has to do…even if it means sacrificing everything.

“For my mate, I’d do anything.”

This book has a little bit of everything…enemies to friends, hidden agendas, betrayals, untold desires, passionate romance, and then you throw in some time travel, body swapping, confessions from the heart, and you have Awakening the Fae. It was most definitely a captivating story that held my full attention beginning to end. As in I finished it in one day. However, it was missing a little something between Dina and Roan that I can’t quite put my finger on. Other than that it was perfect.

As in the previous books in the Shadow-Walkers series each book they learn a little bit more about why they were given the runes. In this book they learn who created the Shadow-Walkers and get to meet their “mother and father”. Let’s just say it is a little surprising. They even learn a little bit about why they weren’t trained like all before them have been. Hopefully I will discover the rest in the fifth and final book of the series, Awakening the Dragon. Stay tuned!

  1. Jennifer, Thank you for your support of Indie authors. I appreciate it so much. I also love how you get the connection between the music and the stories in my Shadow-walkers series.
