Review of Aloha in Love by Jennifer Watts

“Ohana means family”

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Length: 218 Pages

Description:

When twenty-seven year old Real Estate broker, Ashley Walsh, learns that her husband’s business trips aren’t strictly for business she uproots her life and buys a one-way ticket to Hawaii.

And what better place to start over than a sleepy little surf town on Maui’s North Shore? Life in Paia moves at a different pace and surrounded by nothing but blue skies and crystal clear water Ashley receives a warm Aloha welcome from all of the locals.

At least from all but one of them.

One kama’aina in particular who seems to have no interest in bringing Ashley into the fold is her bossy and brooding landlord, Kane Keo. At six-foot-five inches of solid muscle, Kane has a temper almost as dangerous as the rumors that swirl around him. He won’t let Ashley close but he won’t let her out of his sight either and she quickly learns that the board short clad, barefoot brute is the polar opposite of her cufflink-wearing ex-husband.

When Ashley realizes that Kane is the one who holds the key to turning her passion into a viable career she swallows her pride and plays nice with the domineering alpha to get what she wants, and for the first time since trading in her designer heels for flip flops she forges a new path that feeds her soul.

But all too soon past and present collide, threatening to take away the very peace that she’s been searching for and leaving Ashley to wonder if she’s destined for the life she once knew or if she’s finally found the perfect paradise to call home.

Mindy’s Review:

*I received this book free from the author.*

Ashley Walsh is a real estate broker that works for her husbands father. Ashley has been married to her husband for four years and has even tried all kinds of fertility treatments to have baby. When she finds out that he is cheating on her she makes a decision to give up all that she has to move to Hawaii and start all over.

Kane Keo owns  bar in the small town of Paia. He also happens to be Ashley’s new landlord. Kane has had a rough past and with all the rumors going around about him he tends to keep to himself.

Ashley meets Kane at his bar called Salty’s. She quickly discovers that he is a rude, arrogant and bossy man. However he is very nice to look at.  The one good thing that came from this bar is the new friends that she is making. The locals take to Ashley right away and make her feel at home.

As time goes on she is exploring Hawaii with her new friends. However it never fails that the tall brooding man is never far away from her. The more that she is around Kane the more she wants to know about him. HIs story is heartbreaking to say the least. This is what makes you want him to find his soul mate in Ashley.

Ashley is loving her new life. That is until her husband shows up to ruin her plans. One thing about a small community is that you become family and no one messes with family. Damn, this book is HOT!

This was such a fun book to read. This is one of those books that you pray they turn into a movie. I would watch this one over and over. The characters are fun and you just feel as you have made a friendship with all of them.  I definitely fell in love with this book and would love if the other characters have their own story written.

Can’t be tempted to trust him.

Not even when I begin to understand his corrupt ways.

Because the only face the devil shows is the one he wants you to see.
And all I’m seeing is hunger.

Mindy’s Review:

*I received this book free from the author.*

Cole Torian might not live on the right side of the law but the last thing he wants is his name to be associated with his father. Cole was raised by his father and has been in the criminal word since he could talk. The one thing that is above everything else in his life is his siblings and their families. When he has to do the unthinkable to his father a smart mouth FBI agent messes up all his plans.

Anissa Fox is a FBI agent that would love to see nothing more than the Torian family behind bars. When she crosses paths with Cole she never could of imagined what she was going to walk into.

Wow, this book caught my attention right away. Cole is a criminal that has the looks and the money. Anissa just wants to take all of that from him. When Cole and Anissa start spending time together (against her will) she starts to see a side of him that makes her think he might just be a good person. When he offers her a deal that she cannot refuse she proves that she is in come hell or high water.

This was a great read. The book sucks you in from the first chapter and you have a hard time putting it down. I had so many emotions while reading this. I really felt for Anissa and Cole. I do feel like the ending kind of left me hanging but I would definitely read it again.

Kaler Holt married his highschool sweetheart, had a baby girl and is now a single father. Kaler feels that his ex wife left because she didn’t want a daughter that has special needs. Kaler has made Willow his number one priority. Now that she is starting kindergarten the real struggle begins.

Jenna Winston grew up in this small town. Now that she landed the new kindergarten teacher job she knows that she is going to love her new career. When she learns Willow is going to be in her class she wonders why her best friend would ever leave her daughter behind.

Let me tell you I fell so hard for these characters. Willow is my absolute favorite. She has a presence about her that just makes her shine and everyone that is around her. I felt so many emotions as I read this book. Kaler is an absolute wonderful father to Willow. When his ex wife tries to come back into Willow’s life he has his guard up and Willow’s best interest in mind.

The overall problem with being from a small town means that everyone knows everything about you. When Kaler and Jenna finally realize they are more than friends and falling in love with each other they have to take on the wrath of the town. Everyone now knows that Jenna is sleeping with her best friends ex husband.

Review of Part Of My Future by J. L. Leslie

“If my heart were broken, it wouldn’t be pounding in my chest right now.”

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Book Length (Est.): 116 pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

We had one night together. One unforgettable night. But that was over two years ago and we haven’t spoken or seen each other since.

Cole Taylor is a part of my past. A part that I desperately want to move on from. To forget how he made me feel. To forget the way he touched me. To forget his voice. It’s easy to do that when he’s not around.

Only he hasn’t stayed gone like I hoped he would. He’s back and I can’t seem to keep my heart from pounding when I see him. I can’t seem to convince myself that he means nothing to me.

That he’s not part of my future.

*Part Of My Future is Raegan’s story from Demons From My Past. It is a standalone novel and it is not necessary to read Demons From My Past prior to reading this. It contains adult content, adult language and sexual situations. It is intended for mature readers only.*

Mindy’s Review:

**I received this ARC free from the author.**

Raegan wants to forget about her one night stand that she had. That is very hard to do when he happens to be a famous singer known all around the world.

Cole Taylor tries to forget about Raegan but his heart will not let him. She is the only person that he has ever been able to talk to. If he lets his secret out about his past and why he disappeared will she understand?

I love this story so much! This was a story written from the author on her Facebook page that we got snippets from and were able to leave comments while she was writing it. I was hooked from the beginning. I love that Cole and Raegan have a bond so deep that nothing can come between them. I highly recommend this book to anyone that just loves a great story!

Review of Gravity (The Collective: Season Two) by JL Leslie

“I love her. Remy Cartwright blindsided the shit out of me.”

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Length: 149 Pages

POV:  Alternating First Person

Description:

Remy…
As a rehabilitation therapist for the California State Prison, I look for the best in people. Sometimes, it’s hard for me to find the best in myself though. I only wanted an escape. That’s all I have ever wanted. I walked into that bar and found my escape in a man I had no intentions of seeing again.

I didn’t have any expectations from the stranger from the bar. I didn’t expect him to save me from a riot that broke out in the city. I certainly didn’t expect to feel this unexplainable pull to him. But I do. And now I know who he is. He’s a member of the Iron Claw MC.

Riggers…
She was supposed to be a one-time thing. Neither of us wanted more. Instead, she turned my world upside down. I don’t know who I am when I’m with her. A good guy, or the guy I have always been? The guy who follows orders from my president. No matter the cost.

I can’t expect Remy to be part of my world. She’s heaven and I’m hell. It doesn’t matter that gravity continues to pull us to each other. I can’t drag her down with me, especially when the things I do for the club will forever change her life.

**This book contains adult content, graphic language, violence, and sexual situations. It is intended for mature readers only.**

Mindy’s Review:

*I received an ARC of this book free from the author.*

Riggers is a member of the Iron Claw MC. He has done a lot of bad things so when he finds himself drawn to a good girl he feels as though he does not deserve her. When he cannot shake her from his thoughts he actually feels he is losing his mind. Not to mention she just so happens to be the District Attorney’s daughter.

Remy Cartwright works as a Rehabilitation therapist for the California State Prison. She loves her job and she loves to find the good in people. Remy lets her inner bad girl out by having meaningless one night stands, The last thing she needs right now if a relationship.

I really enjoyed this book. I found myself drawn to every page and really cheering on the relationship they thought they didn’t need. I would love to see where these characters go in the future.

Review of Griffins Choice (A Ravens MC Novel #4) by J. L. Leslie

“He lost control, and it was stunning. He was a masterpiece. Just like I knew he would be”

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Book Length (Est.): 128 pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

I grew up near Verdana, California – the tourist town I now live in. It’s the perfect small town with beaches, shops, and beautiful people. Verdana has just one imperfection though – it’s a haven for motorcycle clubs.

I knew when I was younger that I wanted to save Verdana from them. Make it a better place. Make it the place I always loved. I became an attorney and started putting the criminals behind bars, including the infamous club members.

Somehow I lost my way. I can no longer decipher where the line I drew between right and wrong is – or if it even exists anymore. I’m muddling through a gray area, trying to figure out who I am and where I stand with the Ravens MC – the very same club I vowed to take down. Am I the same man I was when I started this vendetta or am I a few decisions away from becoming aligned with my enemy?

“She could be my final undoing. That darkness that pulls me completely into the gray.”

*Griffin’s Choice is book four in the Ravens MC Series, but can be read as a standalone novel. It has references to characters and events from the previous Ravens novels. It contains adult content, adult language, violence, and sexual situations. It is intended for mature readers only.*

Mindy’s Review:

**I received an ARC of this book free from the author**

Griffin was raised near the small town of Verdana that he now calls home. He is the District Attorney that has somehow lost his way. Is he the good guy or has he become the guy that he was trying to save the town from?

Spencer is currently an old lady to the Sinners MC President. She lost the one man that she truly loved. She just wants the truth on how he died. She knows that she does not have the entire truth. Spencer kind of plays all sides when it comes to the rival clubs and the DA. She is secretly giving information to the Griffin in hopes of finding the truth that she wants and staying loyal to the Sinners.

I will be honest that I have never been a fan of Griffin. I did not care for him in the other books and when a girl that he liked fell for someone else I cheered her on. (I know, I know its all because I have love for all of the Ravens). I was curious to see how I was going to feel when I found out he was getting his own book.

Well, let me tell you that J.L. made me go and fall in love with Griffin (I know, I know) and Spencer. I see now why Griffin was a big pain in the butt previously. I love how he truly wants what is best for Verdana. He has a huge heart for his town and his friends. I love how this story played out. And let me tell you Griffin and Spencer are freaking HOT together! I have to admit that this is the perfect ending to this series.

This is the forth book in the Ravens MC series. If you have not read the other three you are truly missing out on a great series. I would recommend you read the first three before this one since Griffin has been around in all of them. Although you can read this as a stand alone, you will want to go back and get the rest of them.

J.L. Leslie, Thank you so much for an incredible series, a book family to love and blowing me away with your stories!

Review of Back To You (The Road Back Home Series #1) by Nicole Dykes

A Curse on the Keller Brothers

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Book Length (Est.): 178 pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

The things we go through in our youth can either leave you broken or toughen you up.
In some cases, it does both.
What would you do for love? How far would you go to make sure you and the one you love most don’t end up on a path leading to nowhere?
When Maddison James is faced with a heartbreaking decision, love is tested, betrayal is imminent, and two brothers will never be the same.

Mindy’s Review:

**I received an ARC of this book free from the author**

This is going to be a different type of review than what I normally give you.. Usually I would give you a run down of the characters and what happens to them. Not this time! Everyone should go get this book and fall in love with Maddison and Logan the same way that I did. Fall in love with every page, get mad at them and then fall in love with them all over again. Here is what I will say.

Maddison has always had a dream to get out of her small town and away from her abusive father and make something of herself. Logan on the other hand loves where he is at and wants to stay in the family business. And all he wants is to have Maddison by his side.

Maddison does get her chance to leave but it has hurt, lies and betrayal leaving a path. When her past comes back to bite her she has to face it head on. And all I can say is Maddison and Logan make one hell of a team, even if he hates her for lying to him.

Go get this book! You will have a new book family to love!! Oh and for the record it was so good I read it all in a couple of hours while my entire family was asleep. You cannot put this down once you start. Totally worth not getting any sleep.
