Review of Nordic Bound (Nordic Lights Series #3) by Christine Edwards

“Let me see those skills of yours. Ready, set…go!”

Genre: Erotica

Book Length (Est.): 157 Pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

Ingvild would do anything to keep her little brother Kjetil out of trouble, even if that means committing a serious crime. The sinister leader of a Neo-Nazi group called the Norsemen asks her to steal for him in exchange for clearing her brother from his heavy gambling debt. She agrees, not realizing the chaos her act has just unleashed and the violent repercussions that will follow. A solitary Dom, Aksel prefers building custom furniture in his remote home to embracing the wild-biker lifestyle of his close friends. One night he tangles with a stunning thief who has managed to steal a priceless artifact owned by his family for generations. Acting on instinct, he shoots the woman, only to watch her flee into the arctic night with his most valued possession. Everything comes full circle when his best friend Mikkel, the leader of the Devil’s Wrath MC, mentions a mysterious woman injured by a rifle shot. Once Aksel gets his hands on her, there is no turning back, for Ingvild is a more precious prize than any artifact. Even if he can win her love, will this strong-willed woman be open to the world of bondage and submission? Book 3 in the Nordic Lights series

Mindy’s Review:

*I received an ARC of this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Ingvild will do anything to protect her family. Getting involved in her brother’s mess she finds herself having to try and clear his name. The one thing she has to do is steal a priceless family heirloom from a home. She thought this would be easy. That is until she ends up in a fight with a man and a bullet in her shoulder.

The only thing Askel loves more than building his custom furniture is to let his Dominant side come out and play. In a desperate plea to find the woman that stole from him he goes to a party that his close friend invited him to. When he takes his first look at her his body comes to life.

Askel learns the truth about Ingvild and wants to protect her from the Neo-Nazi leader that is after her. As they get close to each other and learn that they have similar interest the pages become scorching hot. The chemistry between them is electric. Not only is she a perfect sub, she is a perfect match for Askel in every way.

This is the third book in the Nordic Lights series and another great read from Christine Edwards! The storyline is great, the heat level is scorching and the characters are very easy to love.

My Favorite Moment: I really like when they run into each other for the first time at the party. There is nothing like seeing who you are really dealing with.

Review of Speared by a Merman: A Merman Erotic Short Story by Shady Fae

speared-by-a-merman

“Now that’s how you Zen.”

Genre: Erotica, Short Story

Book Length (Est.): 14 Pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

Fantasy. Desire. Tail-pounding water sex.

Pop star sensation Jacee needs some Zen time, far from the hectic hubub of prying paparazzi and raving fans. So when she takes her private yacht out to sea, she figures the only action she’ll get is inside one of the romance books she brought — or with the captain, though he’s not exactly her type.

Imagine her surprise when a man pops out of the water as she’s lounging on the deck, sipping on wine and considering her options.

Except he’s not a man.

The exotic merman is all muscle, dimples, and cerulean eyes, and she soon finds out he’s more than ready to take her for a ride. All she has to do is say yes and dive into the real-life fantasy swimming in front of her.

Jennifer’s Review:

*I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Jacee is a pop star who needs some zen time away from the paparazzi. On a yacht with only her captain she realizes how boring it can be without technology to keep her entertained. She even contemplates maybe sleeping with him to pass the time. But then a sexy merman appears and suddenly she mentions that she doesn’t just fall into bed with anyone. That was a little amusing since she just commented on the captain being a potential partner and then immediately starts drooling over Cerulean.

Cerulean is a merman who saw a goddess he wants to spear. And spear her he shall.

Speared by a Merman is exactly what the title says. It’s a quickie read about a bored girl and a horny merman who find passion amongst the waves. If you’re looking for any sort of depth you will not find it here, but if you want to know what it’s like to be with a merman and only have fifteen minutes to spare then this is the book for you. However, I should warn you that it’s kind of written like a cheesy porn with things like… “He filled her, his squirt bathing her insides.” Yeah, that makes me laugh every time I read it.

Review of Picture Me This by Marina Lovechild

Ummmm….

Genre: Erotica, BDSM

Book Length (Est.): 141 Pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

“One snap with the shutter of my camera, and you will be mine forever,” he whispered.

My name is Sam, short for Samantha. I’m regular, boring and plain. The only time I can ever relax during my time in college is in photography class, or at least… It was.

That all changed when I met my new photography teacher. He is too sexy for his own good, and his mind too twisted for words to describe.
Together we tumbled into darkness, slowly spiraling out of control, and honestly…? I think I like it.

Mindy’s Review:

*I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Samantha is a college student. She is pretty plain and boring. The only time she feels relaxed is when she is smoking pot or in photography class. That is until she meets the new teacher.

Samantha tries to impress her teacher but can never seem to make him like anything that she does. That is until she starts taking pictures of herself.  She wants him to see the real her. However falling in love with him was not part of the plan.

This was a weird read for me. The teacher has a hidden past that he wants to keep hidden. Samantha wants to know all of his secrets no matter the cost. To be honest I kind of felt like I was reading a Lifetime movie script. With that being said I think it could be a really great movie.

Mindy’s Review:

*I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review*

One epic Halloween party bring all of the supernatural together on neutral ground. With all of them feeling some little naughty relationships will occur.

Aaron is a werewolf that falls for Wonder Woman that has intentions of letting him be himself and letting his inner beast show.

Elissa is a vampire that just wants to enjoy a little treat when she s cornered by two werewolves that want to have her at the same time.

Gabe is a human that just wants to forget his ex. He gets lucky when he runs into a woman dressed as a unicorn. What he doesn’t realize is that he just got ahold of some fairy nectar. When the night is over and he cannot seem to get her out of his head he learns what the fairy nectar is all about.

This is definitely an epic twist to the supernatural world and a very fun short read. All I can say is WOW!

Review of In the Ring (Boxer #1) by Rie Warren

Hot For The Trainer!

Genre: Romance, Erotica (M/M)

Book Length (Est.): 280 Pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

The biggest fight of his life isn’t . . . In the Ring.

The bright lights. The roaring crowd. The chance at a championship belt. The not-so-little secret Liam Shaughnessy—the Bonny Bruiser—is fighting to keep tucked far away.

Liam got the pussy pounded out of him on the mean streets of Cin-city—the other Sin City. The oldest in a Catholic clan where his da never pulled any punches, he went from geek boy to the golden boy of the boxing world care of his fists. Liam’s on the fast track to having it all . . . all except the one man he wants.

Michael Fairweather makes pretending to be hetero goddamn difficult for Liam. The man is blond and beautiful and just so happens to be Liam’s trainer. With a penchant for doing shirtless yoga, giving midnight massages to loosen Liam’s muscles, and sometimes even taking it out in the ring with him. To say Liam has porn-style fantasies about Michael is an understatement.

Michael’s out and proud. Liam’s only proud of what he can do in the ring. He can’t risk his career, least of all for someone unavailable. Michael has a lover. Liam has the lies he lives every day. And when his money-grubbing manager gets involved as the title win approaches, Liam doesn’t know what hit him.

Fight to win. Fight with honor. It won’t be easy, but that’s okay. Nothing worth fighting for ever is.

Jennifer’s Review:

*I received an ARC of this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Liam worked his way up the boxing ladder by using his body and fierce determination. It was all he knew how to do and he was good at it. Never losing. Always winning. The only reason he fought so hard was to help out his family, minus his deadbeat dad. He’s a sweetheart with a big heart and the only problem is that he has to hide who he truly is from the rest of the world. In his eyes he’d never make it to the heavyweight championship if the world knew he was gay. And so he kept his feelings and urges under wrap.

“Just because I’m gay doesn’t mean I’m a pussy.”

Michael is an open and out gay man. He’s also Liam’s trainer. And he has a secret of his own. He might not exactly be single, but he feels a lot more for Liam than any normal trainer would. Too bad Michael is like the rest of the world and things Liam is straight. That is until Liam sets him straight and unleashes a whole new awkwardness between them. Want and desire versus right and wrong.

“Liam, are you just curious – or gay? Because this” – his fingertips drifted down my abs which jumped on contact – “is really dangerous.”

Liam wants to remain in the closet. Michael came out once; he doesn’t ever want to hide again.

Limits will get pushed, hearts will get broken, and the boxing world will never be the same in In The Ring. As always Rie Warren does it again. The Boxer series has started off with a kinky bang covered in awesome sauce.

My Favorite Laughable Moment had to be when Liam is telling Michael the alternatives to calling him dear and then the waitress even chimes in. Can’t argue when a stranger seconds it.

Review of Wrong For Me (Motor City Royals) by Jackie Ashenden

The Only Way To Play Is Dirty!

Genre: Contemporary Romance, Erotica

Book Length (Est.): 300 pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

After eight years in prison, Levi Rush is finally out and back on the gritty streets of Detroit to claim the future he was owed. A future that includes the one woman he’s wanted for years—his former best friend Rachel. She’s the reason he went inside and if getting her to do what he wants means buying the building that houses her tattoo studio and using it as leverage, then that’s what he’ll do. Because if there’s one thing he’s learned inside it’s that if you want to win, you have to play dirty.

Rachel Hamilton is a tattoo artist and one hell of a tough girl. Detroit is her home, and she’s determined to make it a better place. But her plans are threatened when her old friend Levi reappears and gives her an ultimatum: she gives herself to him body and soul, or else she and her business are out on the street. Levi’s got no room in his heart for anything but anger and the lust he’s been carrying around for so long. But the only thing stronger than the secrets of their shared past is their fiery attraction to each other . . .

Mindy’s Review:

*I received this book free from Netgalley on behalf of Kensington Books in exchange for an honest review*

Levi Rush has been in prison for eight years. Now that he is being released he wants revenge on the one person that sent him there. Trying to protect his best friend all those years ago turned out to be a slap in the face. She did not go to see him in all of those years. Now that Levi owns some of the property in Royals he has leverage.

Rachel Hamilton knew without a doubt when Levi returned to Royals she would have to give him some answers. What she didn’t count on was him being the owner of the building that holds her tattoo shop. Settling for a life in Royal, Detroit as a tattoo artist is not what she had in mind all of those years ago.

Levi and Rachel were the best of friends growing up. Levi loved Rachel but did not express his feelings until he had enough money to get them out of this small town. When he followed her into an alley one night he knew he had to protect her, even if it meant killing a man. Now that he is out and holds a grudge against Rachel for making him suffer he wants to claim all of her and he will play dirty to make that happen.

This is the second book in the Motor City Royals series. This was a good read. I felt Levi went a little over board with his arrogance against all of his friends. It seemed the argument of blame went the entire length of the book but I guess spending eight years in prison for someone can bring out that side of you. I really liked Rachel. She tries so hard to be tough but she has her own faults and will not be pushed around by Levi.
