Review of Baller Made (Bad Boy Ballers #3) by Rie Warren

“You own me…”

Genre: Contemporary Romance, Sports Romance

Book Length (Est.): 294 Pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

Bad Boy Ballers series finale! Includes an epic novella length epilogue for Rafe and Peyton, Brooklyn and Delaney, and Calder and Reggie!

The dark horse of the NFL. A superstar showgirl on the Vegas strip. Their desire is taboo in ways you can’t even begin to imagine.

Calder Malone. Black sheep. Bad boy. Kicked off the Reno Ravens and almost suspended from the NFL. The sexy center remains a fan favorite now that he’s playing for Carolina Crush. And what Calder wants more than anything is to prove his worth to the team that’s his last chance, the family he disgraced, and the one woman he fell in love with years ago.

Unfortunately the comeback kid isn’t a boy anymore, and the babe he wants was never his for the taking—for reasons that make him question his sanity.

Reggie isn’t just a Vegas showgirl, a pretty face. She’s an Air Force widow, a strong woman who’s piecing her life back together . . . And maybe the man she always thought was out of her league and completely off-limits just became fair game.

Off the field and offstage, what happens when Calder and Reggie don’t stay in Vegas?

Calder had his life spiral out of control, but has been doing everything to get it under control and get his career back on track. He does everything he can to prove to his new team, the Carolina Crush, that he’s worth the risk they took on him. His career is going good. His personal life…not so much.

Reggie was Calder’s childhood best friend. He wanted more, but was too shy to ever go there. Unfortunately his brother had no problem making the first move on her. He got to stand by and watch the love of his life marry his brother. And then he got to watch as his brother’s continued deployments wore on her. In the end, when his brother was killed in action he couldn’t stand by and watch her pain. His thoughts were always for more and with him gone they felt more wrong than normal so he distanced himself from everyone, throwing himself into his career.

Reggie is a Vegas showgirl, and damn good at her job. She’s worked very hard to get where she is and when the Carolina Crush show up to celebrate a victory she’s excited to see Calder. What he doesn’t know is that she’s seen the glimpses he’s given her over the years and she knows he’s interested, but at the same time she knows he probably would never do anything out of respect for his brother. She’ll set her mind and nothing will stop her from proving to him and herself that they are meant to be together. And she’ll give up everything to do so.

“What am I to you then?”

“Mine.”

Calder is sweet, but kind of lost. Reggie is strong-willed, but hesitant. And they’re completely perfect for each other.

Baller Made is a second chance romance of sorts. Life may have taken Calder and Reggie on two different paths, but in the end it’ll lead them right to where they were meant to be.

I absolutely loved how Reggie kept teasing Calder with sexual innuendos. Once she started down the path she didn’t waiver that’s for sure.

“Hey, I’ve got more skills than you know about.” He took the seat across from me with a bold wink.

“Oh yeah? Maybe I’ll need more demonstrations in the future.” Tucking into the simple but tasty fare after a good dousing of hot sauce, I realized how hungry I was.

“Are you flirting with me, Reggie?”

“Would you mind if I was?”

He slowly shook his head. “It’s just…you never…”

Book Length (Est.): 262 Pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

She’s NFL royalty. He’s the star quarterback of a tanking team. When she takes ownership, balls will roll . . . and the truth will out.

Rafe Macintyre—the rocket-armed Carolina Crush quarterback—has nothing to lose and everything to prove. All because of one woman . . . Miss Peyton Fox. When the tough-as-nails chick takes over as team owner, Rafe is ready to turn the epic-fail season into a Super Bowl championship. But the winning has to start with Peyton’s love.

No stranger to playas on and off the field, Peyton Fox is born and bred NFL royalty. Been there, done him, and called the plays even before she took up the Carolina Crush crown. She has zero time for a love life and even less time for games unless they happen between the endzones. Unfortunately, Rafe Macintyre has one hell of an arm, and he’s full of hot southern charm. He’s not too bad to drool over either, but it’s been five years since she tangled with him—a mistake she doesn’t plan on repeating.

The consequences of one night of rebellion will last a lifetime. It’s all fun and games until someone gets knocked up.

One night and one morning after reaction created a new reality for one Peyton Fox. How do you tell a new up and coming football star, who plays on your father’s team, who doesn’t even remember being with you, that you’re pregnant? For her, she doesn’t. She goes off on her own and focuses on her son. That is until her father passes away and she’s suddenly the team owner. A team that her son’s dad still plays for. A man she’s still drawn to. But her secret won’t allow her to get close to him or anyone.

Rafe never forgot that night with Peyton, but once he realized who her father was he thought it best to distance himself from the entire situation. But the moment she walks back into his locker room he’ll want nothing more than to be with her again. Too bad for him she acts like she wants nothing to do with him.

Spending more and more time together Rafe and Peyton find it hard to fight the sparks they’ve always had, but when he comes face to face with his little mini me things will explode. A son isn’t exactly a secret that can be kept for long. And to a man who believes family is everything, his reaction is amazing. Hers on the other hand is not.

My Favorite Moment is when their son gets to go to family day for the first time. That is one proud little boy.

Review of Getting Inside (Seattle Grizzlies #1) by Serena Bell

getting-inside

“Are we having a conversation about my dick?”

Genre: Contemporary Romance, Sports Romance

Book Length (Est.): 198 Pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

They’re big. They’re hot. And they play hard.

In the kickoff to Serena Bell’s sexy new football romance series, the heat between a female coach and a cocky linebacker turns the Seattle Grizzlies locker room upside down.

Iona: There’s nothing like the rush of going head-to-head with the boys. Football is my life, and I got my new job with the Seattle Grizzlies because I know how to play rough. But as a woman in a man’s game, I can’t afford any distractions—like panty-melting tabloid darling Ty Williams, my star linebacker. I’ve stared down plenty of good-looking players without losing my cool . . . and yet something about Ty’s intense gaze burns straight to my core.

Ty : Despite what they say in the press, I save my best moves for game day. The Grizzlies aren’t just my teammates, they’re my brothers—no way am I going to let some new coach shake up our defense. But Iona Thomas isn’t just some coach. It’s so tough to keep my head in the game when I’d rather be in bed with her. She may take charge at practice, but if I had her in my arms, I’d be choosing the plays. I just need to figure out what makes her tick—and what makes her want to break the rules.

Jennifer’s Review:

Getting Inside mixes in a little humor with its romance. I found myself laughing at little things the characters thought or said throughout the book, which kept is light and entertaining.

Iona is one of the coaches for the Grizzlies and despite her always professional attitude there’s one man you who has an entirely different effect on her.

Ty is a football player and the last thing he ever thought would happen would be him having the hots for his new coach. Then again, I bet he never expected a sexy female coach either.

Iona’s hell bent on ignoring the heat she feels when Ty’s around and keeping things only professional. Ty has different plans. And all it’ll take is a little power outage to start a fire that won’t burn out very easily. With their professional relationship in the spotlight so to speak their personal one will be that much more difficult and secretive….I bet we all know how that’ll turn out. It definitely has its ups and downs, but every single one is worth the ride.

My Favorite Moment is when Coach gets in on a little play action during practice. Hope no one saw that reaction!

Review of Sidelined by Violet Paige

Sidelined

Determination is Everything

Genre: Contemporary Romance, Sports Romance (Football)

Book Length (Est.): 382 Pages (But that includes both Sidelined and Fly)

Book Description/Synopsis:

Everything’s bigger in Texas. At least that’s what Sam Hickson, the famously sexy tight end, wants me to believe. It only takes one night, and a couple drinks, for him to prove he’s right.

I never thought I’d see him again, but after joining the Warrior’s Dance team I find one HUGE problem with my new job. Sam is on the opposing team and a one night stand isn’t what he had in mind. And if I know anything about Sam, he gets what he wants.

But he can’t have me. The rules are clear, don’t date any players. I can’t risk my job or his career. I won’t.

Right?

Oh hell. This is going to be interesting.

Sidelined is a FULL LENGTH, Standalone sports romance with a dirty talking football star, explicit sex scenes, and a HEA. Have a towel and a water bottle at the ready, this is going to be one sweaty workout.
Also includes Fly, a Standalone military romance from my friend TA Foster!

Jennifer’s Review:

*I received this book free from Mark My Words Book Publicity via Instafreebie in exchange for an honest review*

Sam has rules about women during football season, but for the night before the season officially starts all bets are off…or at least they are when Natalia walks into the bar. One night and bam he turns into a lost puppy.

He’s strong, sexy, and completely over the top when it comes to getting what he wants. Sam doesn’t exactly understand the meaning of patience and he’ll do whatever it takes to get Natalia to see he knows what he’s doing.

Natalia is an injured ex prima ballerina turned Goddess. She doesn’t want to be shaking her body on the sidelines of a football field. Hell, she doesn’t even like football. But it’s what pays the bills and gets her the physical therapy she needs to get back to becoming a ballerina.

One crazy night with a man leaves her wanting more, but they agreed to no numbers, no future, only one night. Too bad they’ll see each other again and oh how the sparks will fly.

“I hadn’t thought past tonight or past the few hours together, but I knew this wasn’t going to be the fix we promised each other would cure the problem we had. No, this was only feeding a hungry monster. I wanted him more. I wanted him again.  I wanted him tomorrow and next week. Tonight wasn’t going to be enough. One more time would never be enough.”

Sidelined starts off with an inferno that only burns hotter throughout the pages. Sam and Natalia are drawn to each other like no one before and not even the fact that they work for rival teams will stop them from exploring what neither can deny.

The only thing that I didn’t particularly care for were the interactions Natalia had outside of Sam. They seemed almost topical. Even when she was with other squad members there didn’t seem to be much depth.

My Favorite Moment: I don’t think I’ll ever look at a mirror filled studio the same way again. All I can say is… Damn!
