Review of Besting Brady (Hearts of Hollis #2) by J.L. Leslie and Nicole Dykes

Loving the town of Hollis

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Book Length (Est.): 285 Pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

Brady…
I have lived in Hollis my entire life. All of my memories are here. The good and the bad. I wouldn’t change anything about this town. My life is carefree and I live it without regrets. Sure, I’ve made mistakes…some of them I see every day…but I wouldn’t change those either. I’m just not meant to settle down. No woman will ever get the best of me. They’re just lucky to get part of me.

Lilly…
I don’t get the attraction about Hollis. Not at all…but it did bring Madden Steele here and his brothers followed suit. I at least have to give it a try…even if it’s temporary. The Steele brothers wouldn’t be here if it didn’t hold some attraction…and I can admit there’s definitely one good thing this town has going for it. For all I know, this town could change my life.

** Besting Brady is book two in the Hearts of Hollis series co-written by Nicole Dykes and J.L. Leslie. It is written as a stand-alone novel. It is not necessary to read book one in this series. It contains adult content, language, and sexual situations. It is intended for mature readers only.**

Mindy’s Review:

*I received an ARC of this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Brady has lived in the small town of Hollis his entire life. He has his friends, the bar and all the girls that he wants. Brady is living the carefree life with no worries. That is until a very special woman walks right into his life.

Lilly has ran to the small town of Hollis after finding out that she was adopted. She is not running away because she is scared or mad. She wants to confront her brothers. Wanting to get to know them first she takes a job as a waitress at the local bar.

This is the second book in the Heart of Hollis series. I truly loved the first one and could not wait for this one to come out. I was not disappointed at all. Lilly is just what Brady needed in his life. The chemistry is hot! I read this book in one day because I could not put it down.

All I know is I need Hollis to be real and I need all of the characters to be my friends. Because I love, love, love all of them and I really love the small town feel of Hollis. I cannot wait to see what else comes out of this small town.

Review of Raiden’s Choice (A Ravens MC Novel) by J.L. Leslie

Back to the real world. Or my pretend world.

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Book Length (Est.): 274 Pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

I was raised in a motorcycle club. I saw things no little girl should ever see. Did things no little girl should ever do. That was my life and I loved it. The Ravens taught me about family. Loyalty. Even loss. Now I live a different life. I’m no longer part of that family. I’m no longer part of the club. I live a life where I pretend to be the person I am. I put on a show for the world and I’m good at it. I’ve perfected it. At least I thought I had. It didn’t take him long to see right through me. I have a choice to make. Keep playing pretend or finally be who I have always wanted to be. “When you’re ready to stop hiding who you really are, come find me.”

**Raiden’s Choice is the first book in the Ravens MC series. It is a standalone, full-length novel and is suitable only for mature readers. It includes adult content, adult language, sexual situations, drug abuse, violence, and talk of rape.**

Mindy’s Review:

*I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Raiden was raised in the MC world. Her mother died when she was young and her father raised her around the club. She has seen and done things that she might not be proud of but it is all to protect her family. Now she lives a separate life as a nurse dating the ADA. She is dating the one man that wants her father locked up. Raiden lives as if she is two separate people. Can she have the life that she wants and protect her family as well?

Luka has never wanted to be part of any motorcycle club. His brother is in jail and Luka will do whatever it takes to get him out. Joining the Ravens MC is what he is set up to do by the wonderful District Attorney. It’s simple really, Luka gets info on the MC and his brother gets out of jail. Oh, if only it was that easy.

Raiden sees Luka for exactly what he is. She knows that he is trouble but he sees right through her. He knows that she is living a lie. She loves the smell of leather and being on a bike is where she is meant to be. He is so drawn to her that he might just forget what he is trying to accomplish. That is until Raiden and her father realize what is happening as their secrets get revealed.

This was a great read. This is the first MC book that I have read from J. L Leslie and I am in love. I was sad when the book ended just because I want to know more. This is written so good that it just pulls you in. You feel you are part of their world and just keep turning the pages. I cannot wait for more!

mm

Sometimes love is unexpected..

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Book Length (Est.): 167 pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

Jade…

I came to Hollis to leave my past. I couldn’t get away fast enough. I made new friends and I found a new life. I even found love. Of course, there was heartbreak too, but I’m tough. I can handle it. But I don’t know if I can handle him.

Madden…

She said yes and turned my world upside down. She was supposed to be mine. Not his. Not my brother’s. So I left and I haven’t looked back. I never expected to find someone here who’d make me forget. Someone unexpected. Someone who would mark my heart forever.

**Marking Madden is the first book in the Hearts of Hollis series co-written by Nicole Dykes and J.L. Leslie. It is written as a stand-alone novel. It contains adult content, language, and sexual situations. It is intended for mature readers only.**

Mindy’s Review:

*I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Madden Steel has grown up with the finest things in life. He has been shaped to work for his father’s company with his brothers. When the woman he loves accepts a wedding proposal from his brother he knows he just needs to get away for a while.  So what does he do? He steals money from his father and runs to the smallest town that he can find.

Jade lives in a very small town in Texas. She found the town of Hollis when she wanted to get away from her upbringing and start a new life. Working as a bartender at the only bar in town she knows everyone. When a mysterious man walks into the bar to rent a room she is instantly drawn and wants to know all about him.

Madden and Jade becomes friends pretty quick. Jade is still upset about a past break up and Madden is running away from his family troubles. The best way to get over the past is to rub it in their face. Madden helps Jade make her ex-boyfriend jealous but what they didn’t count on was having feelings for each other.

This was a very fun read. I was unable to put it down once I started reading. The chemistry between Madden and Jade is scorching and the storyline makes you feel as you are part of the small town and all of its drama. I cannot wait to see where this series takes us!

My Favorite Moment: I really enjoyed the night of the street dance.

Review of Let The Waves Come In by J. L. Leslie

Let The Waves Come In

True love is worth the wait

Genre: Erotica Romance

Book Length (Est.): 160 pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

I’m Aubrey Somers. I’ve landed my dream job. I have a great apartment and I still keep in touch with my best friend…even though he lives hundreds of miles away. I’ve even started dating again. I have a lot going for me.

It doesn’t matter that I have to take an anti-depressant everyday or see a therapist every other week. It doesn’t matter that I refuse to drive anywhere. The wreck that ruined everything I had is almost a distant memory. Almost.

But now I have two men in my life. Two men who want to be with me. Two men I never thought I’d have the chance to be with. And I feel like I’m drowning…

“His hungry mouth consumes everything from me. All of my emotions. When he pulls away, I don’t know what to feel. What to want. Who to want.” – Let The Waves Come In

**This book contains explicit language and sexual scenes. It is meant for adult readers only.**

Mindy’s Review:

*I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Aubrey loves her apartment and job. She does not like the secrets that she carries about her ex fiancé or the fact that she has been in love with her best friend’s brother since she was a teenager. Dealing with the guilt of her ex fiancé being paralyzed when she wrecked her car has been difficult. But when he walks back into her life she finally realizes that she is not to blame.

Declan has been in love with his brothers best fiend forever. Taking her virginity one night and then being a complete jerk about it pretty much sealed his fate with her. Going into the military and then running secret missions has kept his mind very busy. But when he finally runs into Aubrey and is looking for a place to live she just happens to be looking for a roommate.

Aubrey and her best friend Drew are very close. He knows all of her secrets and issues. Although he is in a relationship of his own they all seem to be jealous of the friendship that they have. Declan honestly feels like there is more between Aubrey and Drew but he cannot overcome his feelings for her. When the truth is laid out he finally realizes they can be happy with each other. Now only if he can get her to trust him.

This was a fun but sad read. The emotions that Aubrey is feeling grab ahold of the reader. You want to just jump in the book and yell at her for feeling so guilty. The chemistry between Aubrey and Declan is great. They never really got over each other and seem to be able to pick up where they left off after all of these years.

I cannot wait to read about Drew. He really deserves some happiness and an understanding woman.

Review of 30 Days (Morgan Family Series #1) by J. L. Leslie

30 days

Great new series!!

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Book Length (Est.): 3199 Locations

Book Description/Synopsis:

I had a plan when I was nineteen. I would strip only until the bills were paid and I knew my sister and I wouldn’t be thrown out on the street. We would be financially stable. That was my plan. That was also three years ago. I’m still stripping.

I keep telling myself my life will change. I won’t do this much longer. I won’t need to. I don’t even believe that anymore. I still have bills. I still have a deadbeat mom. No idea where my father is. Or who he is.

Now my sister tells me she screwed up. Her future is at stake. One we’ve both worked hard for. There’s an offer for me. One I’ve refused twice now, but my resolve is slowly slipping. It’s just a job. He just wants to buy me for a little while.

He can buy me. But he’ll never own me.

Mindy’s Review:

*I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Memphis has been left to raise her little sister while her mother is out doing whatever it is she does when she leaves. Memphis has a plan to strip until the bills are paid and her sister is taken care of. Stripping a little longer than she wanted to she has to help her sister pay for college since she lost her scholarship.  While at the club one night she sees a man that completely draws her in. He is offering her a deal that she cannot refuse. Thirty days, 150 thousand dollars.

Cameron Morgan works at his father’s law firm as a lawyer. Going out with his friends one night he is taken to a strip club. When he first notices a dancer that he cannot take his eyes off of, he makes her a crazy deal that he cannot believe he is making. Is he crazy or is this woman just worth it all?

Cameron makes good on his word but thirty days with this woman is not going to be enough. Getting her a job at his father’s law firm once he learns why she does what she does should help her make more money. Cameron has his future set up but Memphis is still young and not sure what she is wanting out of life. The one thing she does know is she is falling in love with this stubborn man.

Wow, this was a great read, one I was unable to put down once I started. I had no idea where this book was going to go but I definitely enjoyed every minute finding out. The characters are very loveable and the sexiness is off of the charts. I honestly cannot wait for the next book in the series.

My Favorite Moment: I have to say that I really enjoyed the Epilogue. It just made my heart so happy.
