Review of Wife for a While by Lorna Baldwin

“Playboy. Partier. Billionaire. Handyman?”

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Book Length (Est.): 222 Pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

What’s weirder than planning a wedding for a man without a fiance? Agreeing to be his fiance.

Right when I need a bank-sized bailout, Benton Spencer strides into my life – hiring me to plan a wedding that lacks a bride. He’s handsome. He’s ripped. He’s occasionally charming (but mostly not). More importantly, he’s offering me every penny I need…if I’ll marry him. Two years of putting up with his partying, chauvinistic, rich boy ways and my money problems are solved. If that’s not weird enough for you, get this: I’m actually starting to fall for him. God help me, those pale blue eyes have got me cornered. I know I can make it for two years; but I can’t say the same for my heart.

Jennifer’s Review:

*I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Benton needs to be married before he’s thirty or else he loses in inheritance. There’s just one big problem with that…he’s a coke snorting playboy who has a different woman every night and he doesn’t want to change.

Jolene is a wedding planner whose business is on the verge of bankruptcy. In walks this insane man wanting to plan a wedding without even having a bride, but when he guarantees she be paid an obscene amount of money just to plan it she cannot say no. When he tells her she’s a bride contender she balks at the idea, but when a huge financial issue arises it’ll have her seriously considering selling her vows.

There’s nothing like a good woman to help a man rise to meet his potential. Benton is an amazing man, it just took someone else to see it before he could realize it for himself.

In Wife for a While two people from opposites sides of town will fall harder than ever imaginable and their lives will forever both be changed.

The storyline is good, but there’s something lacking. I never truly got attached to any of the characters and therefore did not get pulled into the story like I would have preferred. I’m not sure if it was the chemistry between the characters or their actions in general…let’s just say it wasn’t my favorite, but it’s not bad.
