Review of His to Seduce (A Fireside Novel) by Stacey Lynn

“It’s going to be a beautiful life”

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Book Length (Est.):  238 pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

An honorable man who’s lost his way . . . A career woman who hides behind her button-up suits . . . Unexpected romance is the specialty at the Fireside Grill as Stacey Lynn’s captivating series comes full circle.

Becoming an ER doctor had been David McGregor’s mission ever since he could remember. But after tragedy strikes at his hospital in Chicago, David runs away from the guilt—all the way back to Latham Hills, Michigan, where he takes a job tending bar at his childhood friend’s restaurant. That’s how he meets Camden Reed, and the way Camden refuses to give him the time of day should be a turnoff. Instead, he’s drawn to her tough, tightly wound exterior, and soon David realizes that he has a new mission: to see her tightly wound beneath him.

Camden’s fighting tooth and nail to resist the desire she feels for David. Growing up dirt-poor, raised by a single mother, she worked twice as hard to get where she is today, and she doesn’t have any patience for the kind of guy who’d give up a decent paycheck to sling drinks. But when the sexual tension finally combusts between the sheets, Camden discovers that people aren’t always what they seem. As David pushes her past her limits, Camden begins to loosen up—and to trust that, when she falls, there will be someone waiting to catch her.

David McGregor works as a bartender at his friends restaurant. Running from his past failures this gives him something to do. Through his friends he meets Camden, and she wants nothing to do with him. But he knows he will keep trying.

Camden Reed is a list person. She works really hard to keep the lifestyle that she has. Being raised by a single mother and having a rough childhood keeps her wanting the best in life. She needs stability. That is why she is trying so hard to fight the desires that she has for David.

When their friends get married everyone goes to Jamaica for the nuptials. Spending time with David is a given as they are the only singles there. As the tension heats up between them all bets are off. David wants Camden to relax just while they are out of town and throw all her securities away. He pushes her to her limits and has her face her fears. But they both have secrets that could destroy their new found interest in each other.

This was a fun read. This is the fourth book in the Fireside series. I really enjoyed how David tries to make Camden relax and show her that some people can be trusted. The way that he showers her with endearment warms my heart. With that being said it also breaks my heart when the truth reveals itself. Both need to come clean to each other if they want to have a future together.

My Favorite Moment: I really enjoyed when they were scuba diving. The ocean seems to make everyone feel good.

Grief is  powerful thing!

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Book Length (Est.): 292 pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

Can two hearts entwined by hardship move on to form a healthy bond? From the author of His to Love and His to Protect, this tender, bittersweet romance brings together a man who loses everything—and a woman with everything to give.

Chelsea Dwyer arrives home from her job at the middle-school library in Latham Hills, Michigan, expecting another quiet evening—until she hears the screams for help through her living room window. As the first witness to a terrible accident involving two local students, Chelsea doesn’t anticipate how her own life will be irrevocably changed by the father of one of the boys. In the wake of tragedy, she’s the only one who seems to understand his grief. Chelsea’s a survivor, too—and she knows that there are brighter days ahead.

As a single father, Aidan Deveraux worked his entire life to provide a stable home for his son, Derrick. Without him, Aidan feels the deepest despair imaginable. The one thing that keeps him going is his connection with the woman who tried to save his son. Hard as he tries, Aidan just can’t stay away. Chelsea’s warm embrace is the comforting solace he desperately craves—and it doesn’t hurt that Aidan had noticed the beautiful librarian and wanted to ask her out for years. Now that she’s in his life, he doesn’t ever want to let go.

Chelsea Dwyer works at the local school library. One evening she hears terrifying screams and goes out to see the unthinkable. Calling all of her friends to find Aiden and let him know his son has been injured will change the course of everything. Being a survivor herself she knows all about grief and needing someone to help you through.

Aidan Deveraux has been a single father and running his father’s business. Always providing a stable life for his son and wanting him to have the best in life. Aiden gets to the hospital to find that his dreams have been shattered and life has been taken too quickly. The only person he feels safe to lean on is the one person that tried to save his son.

Chelsea has had a crush on Aiden for years. Now that he needs a shoulder to cry on she is willing to be his friend and help him with what he needs to heal. However will she stay around if she is being used? Aiden and Chelsea have ignored this spark they have for each other for too long. Grief might just make them realize they are good for each other.

Grief is a very powerful thing! This is the third book in the Fireside series. Although they have all been a little emotional this one ripped my heart out. Watching Aiden go through all of the emotions feels so real as you read. This was a great read filled with sadness, healing and lots of love and I really love this series. Talk about an emotional rollercoaster!

HOT, Protection Mode!

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Book Length (Est.): 236 pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

A warm home for broken hearts, the Fireside Grill serves up hope and healing in equal measure. Stacey Lynn’s sensual, deeply emotional series heats up as a jaded restaurateur falls hard for a woman who’s hiding from a damaged past.

Declan James lost his last ounce of trust the day his wife walked out the door, leaving him to save the restaurant they built together. Throwing himself into his work, Declan swears off women—or at least, women who expect him to stick around in the morning. But when he discovers a skittish beauty scrounging through the Fireside’s trash to feed her dog, Declan offers her a job and a place to rest her head. There’s just something about her that awakens his protective side. And soon, not even that mangy mutt can stop Declan from caring for her.

After one too many trips to the ER, Trina Wilson finally gathered the courage to leave her husband, taking only her car and hyperactive boxer. Unfortunately, life on the run proves harder than she anticipated—until Declan takes a leap of faith on her. But even as Trina starts to see beyond his gruff exterior, she can’t relax, even for a moment. Not with her husband still tracking her down. What Trina doesn’t know is that in Declan, she has a powerful ally—and, if she would only follow her heart, a devoted lover.

Declan James is the owner of the Fireside Grill. His dreams were to open the restaurant, have a happy wife and live happily ever after. Those dreams came crashing down when his wife took off and broke all trust within Declan for any other woman.  Trying to move on and keep his restaurant in business is what keeps his head up high. One thing he needs to do is try to catch this person that keeps coming in the alley and making a mess.

Trina Wilson decides after one too many trips to the ER that it is time to leave her abusive husband. When the time is right she gets her dog and her car and makes a run for it. Trina knows that her husband will be looking for her since he is the senator’s son and wouldn’t want something getting out to the public. Trina runs into this hunk of a man in the alley while she is trying to feed her dog some dinner.

Declan instantly feels drawn to protect Trina the minute he meets her. He can tell she has been abused and is running from something. Since she does not know anyone in town Declan offers to help her by giving her a place to stay. Once he learns why and who she is running from he decides to help her with anything that she needs. One thing they did not count on was falling in love with each other.

This is the second book in the Fireside series. I loved the first one and this one is no different. You have no choice but to fall in love with these characters. They have such big hearts for each other and everyone that they love. I cannot wait to see where the next book in the series takes us!

My Favorite Moment: I really love this entire series so far!

HIs to Love

Secrets will always surface!

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Book Length (Est.): 266 pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

Tyson Blackwell never saw it coming when his Mafia princess girlfriend dumped him and disappeared at the age of eighteen. He never forgot her, either, even after what happened next: the killing of his father, a Detroit PD officer, at the hands of one of her father’s men. Tyson swore revenge, and now, ten years later, the kid who dreamed of a pro football career is a hard-nosed FBI agent, back in town to take down the Galecki crime family once and for all. But Tyson’s mission gets complicated fast—because going undercover means seducing the only woman he’s ever loved.

Gabriella “Blue” Galecki has been in hiding for a decade. She finally comes home to spend time with her terminally ill mother, only to receive a blast from the past when she runs into Tyson. His brooding eyes and electrifying touch still send chills down her spine. But as heir to the family empire, Blue has been promised to another. Caught in a web of deception, she is tempted to pull the trigger on the boldest risk she’s ever taken: trusting Tyson with her life, her body, and her heart.

Mindy’s Review:

Tyson Blackwell was dumped by his girlfriend after high school and has not seen or heard from her in ten years. Now that he is an FBI agent he is put on an assignment. Once he sees the picture of the woman that he is to get information out of his heart does not know if he can do this job and not spark an old flame. Once he lays eyes on her for the first time after all these years all of his feelings come straight to the surface for the one woman that he has always truly loved. The bad thing, she is still the mob boss’s daughter.

Gabriella “Blue” Galecki was sent away by her father to protect the family business. Since his daughter was dating a police officer’s son he felt some family was being spied on. The fix was to send her away. Now that her mother is terminally ill she is on her way back home to spend time with her. What she did not expect was to run straight into the man that she has loved for so long and share the flight home with him.

Gabriella knows that her family has dark secrets but deep down she feels no connection or even wants to be a part of that life. When Tyson wants to catch up on old times and find out why she left so long ago he is speechless to find out that she believed her father and did not ask Tyson for the truth. The only downfall right now is that he cannot give her the full truth as to why he is in town. And on top of that he is lying to her about what he does for a living because he has every intention of completing his job and taking down her father and his entire empire.

When the feelings start to ignite and the truth comes out Gabriella is at a loss. She has no idea who to believe or even what to do. One thing she cannot deny is even if Tyson is only doing his job she cannot stop her heart from loving him.

This is the first book in the Fireside series and is a great read. I am excited to see where this story goes.
