Blog Tour – Review of Rock Star (Bad Boy Homecoming #5) by Stacey Kennedy

“You breathe life back into me…”

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Book Length (Est.): 110 Pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

A high school reunion is about to get down and dirty and a whole lot more complicated in this new erotic romance from USA Today bestselling author Stacey Kennedy.

Veterinarian, Rae Evans expects to attend a dreadful ten-year high school reunion. Instead, she’s confronted by a past she’s never gotten over. The love of her life, Travis Walker, has returned to Catfish Creek, and the now-famous rock star wants only three things: Her. Naked. And screaming his name.

Fresh off his last world tour, Travis has returned to town to get a dose of reality. With fame casting a superficial cloud over Travis’s life, he’s scrambling to stay afloat. He needs an anchor, and Rae is that for him. But as he finds himself, he’s determined to remind Rae of the heat that once burned between them.

Before they know it, their one hot night is three, and soon, just like ten years ago, Travis holds the strings to Rae’s heart. But Rae’s not that young girl who watched her high school sweetheart race off to become famous. She’s a woman who knows what she wants and realizes when a man needs her. She just has to decide if she should put the past on repeat, or walk away from it forever.

Jennifer’s Review:

*I received an ARC of this book free from Tasty Book Tours in exchange for an honest review*

Travis wanted a taste of the life he once had and loved, but a simple taste could never fill the void. He’ll need to have it all. Fame no longer held all the excitement it once did and with all the band members married it was hitting even closer to home. He wanted the love he once had back. He wanted Rae.

Rae never truly got over Travis, but she did what was needed. They had to put their dreams and careers first and now that they’d done that she felt like maybe she missed out on something and seeing Travis at the reunion made that feeling even stronger. She wanted him. She wanted everything they once had.

Rock Star is a second chance romance that will tug at your heartstrings and leave you smiling. It captures the characters well and it was easy to fall into their story.

My Favorite Moment was when Travis interrupted a live set to show the world what was the most important thing to him. Complete and total awww moment. And the epilogue…simple yet perfect.

Excerpt:

Travis shifted the black masquerade mask around his eyes, and the muscles along his shoulders tightened with the reminder of the weight they carried; of the need for him to always be on point, and the fact that nothing, not even his high school reunion, was sacred anymore.

Life had changed dramatically since the last time Travis stepped foot in the conference center. But he didn’t want to think about the shit weighing on him, so he fired off a response—I’ll be on it—then tucked his cell phone back into his pocket.

He had tonight to fix everything that was wrong with his life, and he wouldn’t waste it.

In the eyes of his manager, Travis had come to the reunion to put on a show and to look real to his fans. But Travis hadn’t come for the publicity; he had come for one very good reason: to find his anchor—the woman who stopped his world from spinning wildly out of control.

Lately, in a sea of chaos, he’d finally stopped drowning and saw a way back to the happiness he once had. That happiness had started with Rae, and surely, she was his way to find himself again.

One touch. One taste. He wanted to remember what that happiness felt like.

Again, he searched the crowd, ignoring the way some men glowered at him, and some women batted their lashes. Rae. That’s whom he’d come here to see tonight. Only her.

The band behind him started playing another ballad, and that’s when he found her, staring right at him from across the room. She wore a sleek, black, strapless gown around her slender figure with matching long, black gloves.

His muscles surged with adrenaline, and he went to move toward her when a hard voice came from behind him.

“Karly wants you to play another song.”

Travis slowly glanced over his shoulder to find the biggest asshole in Catfish Creek High School history, Jason, a blond-haired, slender, one-time big shot. Rae was best friends with Kate, and Kate had loved—and later married and divorced—the dipshit behind him.

Times had changed.

Travis didn’t owe Jason anything now, and he certainly didn’t owe the reunion’s event planner, Karly, shit. “You can tell Karly that I told her I’d play one song, and that’s exactly what I did. Bother me again, and we’ll have a problem.”

Jason didn’t make a move or say a word in rebuttal. Once a coward, always a coward.

Refocused on the only person who mattered tonight, and pulled by the energy only Rae conjured, Travis stretched out his fingers, shedding his frustrations as he moved with purpose through the crowd. Her pretty, hazel eyes surrounded by dark makeup followed his every move, and she yanked him forward with a simple look.

She’d always been a pretty girl, but she’d grown into a blindingly beautiful and stunning woman. Her gown fit her like a glove. A gold filigree mask somehow made the creaminess of her skin appear richer. She wore her shoulder-length, brown hair in big waves framing her round face.

Tonight, she didn’t look so fresh-faced and innocent. She looked sexy as hell, and just the sight of her again caused Travis’s cock to swell eagerly.

While he’d talked to her through email, text, and the occasional late-night, drunk phone call every birthday and Christmas over the last ten years, he hadn’t seen her. Not since that day on his parents’ porch. Sure, he’d kept an eye on her through the Catfish Creek Chronicle when they featured her for her charity work, and also on the website for the vet clinic she owned. But after he’d walked the path that led away from her, he’d never found his way back. Life got busy. New friends were found. Fame overtook him.

Now, he was…home.

When he finally reached her, the air between them felt charged. “Rae,” he said.

Her eyes warmed. Dark, red-painted lips curved. “Travis.”

Christ, he remembered how those lips tasted. How she tasted—every goddamn inch of her.

Beneath her mask, those pretty eyes now turned a little suspicious. “Why didn’t you tell me you were coming to the reunion?”

Perhaps he should have called, but… “I wanted to surprise you.” Because there were important reasons he returned to his hometown, ones that he didn’t want her to know about. Yet.

It all began with an article in the Catfish Creek Chronicle.

Dr. Rae Evans feels she’s done what was needed to help the animals in Catfish Creek, and she’s ready to begin a new journey. She’s looking to open another clinic in one of the neighboring towns.

At twenty-eight years old, she’d achieved what she hoped to do by thirty, and that article reminded him of the guy he used to be when she’d first made those plans. He wasn’t the same man who left Catfish Creek all those years ago, and he didn’t know when exactly he lost himself. While Rae had likely found all the happiness she wanted in her success, he simply wanted to find his way back to the carefree guy he once was.

To do that, he had to come back to the place where he was the happiest. He had to come back to her. “But to tell you why I wanted to surprise you, I need to tell you a story.” He offered his hand. “How about we dance, and I’ll share it.”

For a second, he thought she might refuse him. She simply stared at his hand.

When her eyes met his again, and she slowly slid her palm into his, the tightening in his chest eased. He closed his fingers around hers and sensed her soften, making him smile.

Reliving that infectious energy she carried, he led her into the middle of the dance floor, then he spun her around and pulled her to him, nice and close, sliding his hand across her lower back.

She laughed softly, eyes twinkling behind her mask. “You’ve still got the moves, I see.”

“My moves will never fail me.” He grinned.

The band played the perfect song. Something a little sexy and slow, keeping her hips swaying perfectly with his. He did nothing to shield his erection, but one look into her eyes told him that was all right. With her breasts pressed against his chest, her cheeks a little pink now, he noticed the heat in the depths of her gaze. He’d recognize it anywhere. That fire felt like it belonged to him—always had, always would. Yet in the past, she’d shy away from that desire. Now, he noted how she firmly held his gaze, telling him she wasn’t the young lover he once had.

“How long are you staying in town?” she asked, in an obvious attempt to divert their attention away from his cock.

“Just tonight.” He stroked his thumb over the back of her hand, keeping her as close as he could, inhaling her flowery scent that had faded from his memory. “I fly out bright and early in the morning.”

“Only tonight?” She shot him a questioning glance. “You came all the way here from New York just for the reunion?”

“You seem surprised.”

She shrugged, seemingly unaffected when another couple bumped into her, her interest obviously centered on him. “Seems like a long way to come for only a few hours.”

A very good point, indeed. “Well, you see, that brings us to my story.” He sent her out, twirling her around before bringing her in close again and returning the smile she gave him. “But I think we need to go back even further for you to truly understand.”

“Go on,” she said, watching him closely.

He paused, collecting his thoughts, then he began. “You’ll never hear me complain about my life. I have far more than I probably deserve.”

“That’s a good thing,” she said firmly, even as a playful grin teased her lips. “You have a pretty amazing life, and you’d better not complain to me about all the fabulous trips you get to take around the world, or you might lose a tooth.”

He chuckled but leaned in, calling her out. “And how do you know so much about my life? Reading up on me?”

“A little,” she admitted.

That’s what he liked most about Rae. She was honest, through and through. The fact that she followed his life could bite him in the ass later, but at this point, there was no going back, so he pushed the conversation along. “So, then you know that I have a very good life. I travel. I stay in fancy hotels. I eat at amazing restaurants. I never have to lift a finger. I have everything that anyone should want.”

Her eyes searched his. “But it’s not the life you want?”

Of course, she caught on. He didn’t expect otherwise. That’s why he’d come to the reunion—to be with someone who truly knew him. “It’s not that I don’t want the life I live,” he explained gently. “It’s that something is missing. Something very important.”

“Which is?”

“The guy I used to be.”

She began nibbling her lip like she used to do in high school when she became confused. “What do you mean?”

“I can have anything I want, Rae. There is nothing that’s not available to me.” He slid his hand along her spine, pulling her in closer, leaving no room between them. “But the guy I was when we were together…I don’t know him anymore.”

Her eyes softened, and her voice grew quiet. “That’s really kinda sad, Travis.”

“It is what it is.” He shrugged, not wanting to get stuck on the things he couldn’t change. “My manager told me that I’d been invited to the reunion and saw it as a business opportunity. But I saw it as a personal one.”

The song shifted to something faster, and the crowd began to fill the dance floor, bumping into his back. He refused to let her go, holding her tightly against him. “Do you want to know the real reason I came to the reunion tonight?”

“Yes,” she said, a little breathlessly.

“I came to relive the past, Rae.” He released her hand, wrapping his other arm around her and bringing his mouth close to hers. “That’s the only reason I’m here. I want to remember what it’s like to be with a woman who knows the real me.” He was encouraged by her shiver. An involuntary movement that spoke of her willingness to give him all that he wanted and more.

Hot and hard, he dropped his head into her neck, inhaled the subtle hints of her flowery perfume, and said into her ear, “We have a chance that many people don’t get. To go back and feel what we felt before.” He dragged his nose across her neck in the way he knew she liked, feeling her quiver under his hands. “Tomorrow, our lives will return to normal. Nothing will have changed. You’ll live here, entirely focused on your clinic and your life, and I’ll live mine in New York. Tonight’s our one free pass to dip into the past, and I want to take it. Because tonight, Rae”—he brushed his lips across her neck, and a soft moan escaped her mouth as he murmured—“I want one more taste of you.”

She gasped and stepped back, blinking rapidly. “I…sorry, excuse me. I need to get some air.” Then those pretty pink cheeks and wide, excited eyes were gone, her dress trailing behind her as she ran for the door.

Travis shoved his hands into the pockets of his suit and grinned. He didn’t mind hunting her, it sweetened his reward.

Blog Tour: Review of Payback (Viking Bastards MC #2) by Christina Phillips

“One kiss and he’ll be out of my system.”

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Book Length (Est.): 182 Pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

Gage…

I don’t fuck girls who work for me, but as soon as Amelia turns those big green eyes on me I know she’s trouble. I can’t keep my hands off her, and the almost-but-not-quite-sex we share in the kitchen is the hottest thing I’ve ever had. Except she calls it quits, before we’ve even started.

Instead of moving on, she’s all I can think about and that’s bad news. I’m breaking all my rules for her, and don’t even care.

Until I find out who she is and what she really wants. She’s after payback, but there’s no way she’s going to get it. No way in hell…

Mindy’s Review:

**I received this book free from Netgalley – Entangled Publishing LLC on behalf of Tasty Book Tours in exchange for an honest review.**

Gage Reynold is a member of the Viking Bastards MC.  His family has been part of the club since his Grandfather. The club always comes first. Gage runs a bar called Odin’s and only has one rule. Never sleep with the help. But when a new bartender comes in he cannot keep his eyes or hands off of her. That is until she sets the rules.

Amelia is out for some payback. She is getting her one chance to get close to the MC that killed her father. She only knows the facts that her mother told her ten years ago about her father’s death. Her father treated her like a princess and she just wants the revenge to make her feel better. Working at Odin’s will bring her closer to the man she is after. When she finally meets him and lays her eyes on him something else starts to turn inside of her.

Gage and Amelia are highly attracted to each other instantly. Amelia is starting to forget why she is there and decides she does not want any part of talking down the club. She believes Gage is a good man and their club is not doing anything wrong. When Gage finds out who is snooping around and why he goes into a fit of rage. Amelia is there to set him up and all he was doing was falling in love while it happened.

This is the second book in the Vikings Bastards series. I really enjoyed reading this Gage and Amelia’s story. Even though there is bad blood within their families love always takes a front seat.

Excerpt:

We sit in the back row, and as far as I know that’s for one reason only. The place is half empty, and it’d be too easy to slide my hand under her sweater and play with her gorgeous tits. My dick stirs and I grit my teeth. It can’t be good that I have a permanent hard-on whenever she’s near me.

I watch her from the corner of my eye as she digs into her popcorn. The lights dim and it’s real hard not to sling my arm around her shoulders, but I have the weird feeling she expects me to—just to prove that I can’t keep my word.

She’s only a chick, and the only time my word is everything is when it comes to my brothers. If Amelia wasn’t interested, she wouldn’t be here with me now. We can spend the next ninety minutes making out like a couple of horny teens, and I won’t think any less of myself for breaking my word.

Or I can be a fucking martyr and call her bluff.

When the movie starts, she wriggles in her seat and rests her arm next to mine on the armrest. Is she doing it on purpose? We’re barely touching but it’s like an electric charge zaps through my body.

This is going to be the longest ninety minutes of my life.

***

When we finally leave the movies it’s late afternoon and dark, which is a relief. Not that I’d expect to see any of my brothers hanging around, but I guess I’m paranoid. As we reach the bike, Amelia bumps her shoulder against my arm.

“You didn’t fall asleep. I’m impressed.”

I shrug. “I’ve seen worse.” No way will I admit the movie wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. It’s still way too early to take her to a club, but I’m in no hurry to let her go, even if she isn’t going to put out at the end of the night. Guess we could get something to eat.

Before I can figure out whether I’m ready to ask her that, because movies and eating out in one evening is kind of full-on, she takes the helmet and hugs it, like it’s a shield.

“Well, thanks for inviting me. Can you take me back to my car now?”

What the fuck? Is that it?

“Sure.” I’m pissed off and don’t know why. I’ve had some shit ideas in the past, but taking Amelia out has got to be one of the worst. If this is dating, then they can keep it and I’ll stick to my easy no-need-to-think-about-it hookups.

“Only, I need to get home and freshen up before my shift starts at Odin’s.” She pauses for a couple of seconds, as if she’s letting that sink in. Christ, I’ll never understand how chicks’ minds work. “That’s if the offer’s still open?”

BLOG TOUR: Review of Truly, Madly, Whiskey by Melissa Foster

“My girl doesn’t swallow well. Noted.”

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Book Length (Est.): 320 Pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

Watch mysteriously sexy Bear Whiskey claw his way to his happily ever after with sassy, rebellious Crystal Moon.

In TRULY, MADLY, WHISKEY…
Eight months is a long damn time to have the hots for a woman who keeps a guy at arm’s length. But Crystal Moon is no ordinary woman. She’s a sinfully sexy, sass-mouthed badass, and the subject of Bear Whiskey’s midnight fantasies. She’s also one of his closest friends.

Just when Crystal thinks she has her life under control, scorching-hot, possessive, aggressive, and fiercely loyal Bear pushes all her sexual buttons, relentless in his pursuit to make her his.

The more Bear pushes, the hotter their passion burns, unearthing memories for Crystal that are best kept buried. But there’s no stopping the collision of her past and present, catapulting the two lovers down an emotionally charged road that has them questioning all they thought they knew about themselves.

Jennifer’s Review:

*I received an ARC of this book free from Tasty Book Tours in exchange for an honest review*

Crystal had a rough past; one she kept thinking a little reinventing would overcome. With the help of a therapist and one very determined man she’ll eventually be able to move forward and share the real her with her family and friends.

Bear has wanted Crystal since the moment he saw her and even being continuously turned down for eight months straight could deter him. He knew she was the one and not one other woman could even catch his eye from that moment forward.

She’s hesitant and very resistant, but he’s one good-natured, loving, kind, and overly determined man…oh and how could I forget, conceded.

“There’s no difference between going out with me and going out with a guy who’s not in a motorcycle club except I’m better looking, tougher, smarter, and a million times hotter in bed.”

Truly, Madly, Whiskey has equal parts humor and sadness. They combine well, mixing in Bear’s humor keeps the story from falling into the despair of Crystal’s past. I enjoyed it, loved when the kids were part of it (kids always make a story cute), and oh the ending was pretty perfect for their story.

My Favorite Laughable Moment is when words have double meaning and the innuendos that transpire.

“I’m surprised at how monstrous it is.”

His eyes turned volcanic.

“Ohmygod. The bike!”

“If I have my way, this won’t be the last time you feel something monstrous between your thighs.”

When A Lie Becomes Truth

Genre: Contemporary Romance, Military Romance

Book Length (Est.): 185 Pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

The bestselling Hero’s Welcome series continues with a juicy Christmas romance, a short novel set in Seaside, North Carolina, where the bustling military base keeps this small town stocked with dedicated, lovable heroes.

Three-hundred-and-sixty-four days a year, Allison Carmichael doesn’t mind being single. It sure beats dating another loser, and it keeps her heart safe. Then there’s that three-hundred-and-sixty-fifth day: Christmas Eve, the traditional time her entire family gathers together—and gangs up on her, demanding to know when she’s going to get married. This year, she swears, is going be different. And that’s why, at a charity auction she’s throwing on-base, she buys herself a man.

Sergeant Troy Matthews insists that he’s not for sale. His time is, though, and he’s happy to donate it. Happier still when he learns the identity of the winning bidder: the redhead with the killer good looks and smart mouth who runs the veteran’s center. Allison needs Troy’s help to fool her family into believing they’re an item, and he’s all too happy to indulge her. But by the time Christmas Eve rolls around, their little charade is working a little too well . . . because Troy’s falling head over heels.

Jennifer’s Review:

*I received an ARC of this book free from Tasty Book Tours in exchange for an honest review*

Allison hasn’t had much luck in finding the right man. As a matter of fact her mother can always tell what’s wrong with them right from the beginning, but she never listens. Now she just wants to be single and not have her family scheduling a dating intervention. In order to do that she buys Troy at an action to act as her fake boyfriend.

Allison had caught Troy’s attention from the first time he’d met her so when she proposed her crazy arrangement idea to him he agreed. He got to spend time with a gorgeous woman who he’d wanted to spend time with and all with no strings attached, what could be better than that.

I loved Troy! Even when he wasn’t trying he was the epitome of a gentleman. He was there for her. He took care of her. And when it mattered most he stepped up instead of running away from his feelings.

I’ve been enjoying the Hero’s Welcome series very much and hope there’s more to come.

My Favorite Moment involved an awkward moment with a purple woman pleaser. Of course the second appearance of said purple woman pleaser was a lot more interesting.

Excerpt:

“So there’s one thing I now know about you. You’re a good liar.” Allison folded her arms at her chest.

“Good, maybe. But I value honesty. Sometimes lying to someone is for their own good, though. A little white lie never really hurt anyone. Here’s one for you,” he leaned in closer and lowered his voice, “I have absolutely no interest in dating you, either.”

Her cheeks flushed.

“And I don’t think you’re the most beautiful woman in this room, and the thought of taking you out does not appeal to me whatsoever.” He shook his head. “Nope, not one little bit.”

She smiled. “Now I know two things about you. You lie well and you’re a smooth talker. So, do you agree to my proposal?”

Troy could just say yes, but he was enjoying engaging her in a conversation. “You know, when I was kid, Christmas was always magical. I’d sit with the toy catalog and create this huge, mile-long list of the things I wanted. I never got so excited about a pencil and paper.”

“Did you get everything on the list?” she asked.

“Usually.”

“So your family had money?”

He nodded. His family practically owned the town he’d grown up in. He didn’t know what it felt like to want for something until his cousin Dale had died in 9-11, the deciding factor in him joining the military. “I figure the more money raised for those kids, the better their Christmas will be.”

“That’s my goal. I want this to be the best Christmas Mercy’s kids have ever had.”

“So, if I have to take you out . . .” He trailed off, smiling at her.

“We’re just going to talk. Have a meal or something together. No kissing, no handholding.”

Troy held up his hands. “I’m an honorable guy. I don’t force myself on women. Truth is, I usually have to fight them off.” He winked again.

“And you can’t act like that when you meet my mother.”

“Like what?” he asked.

“All flirty and charming. She’ll never believe that I’d fall for someone like that.”

He tried not to take offense because no matter what she was saying, she was attracted to him. He could see it in her dilated pupils and the way her chest rose just slightly under her racing pulse. “No? What kind of guy exactly would you fall for?”

Allison looked around the room. There was still a nice-sized crowd laughing and mingling. Christmas music filled the merry air. “I wouldn’t fall for any kind of guy right now. That’s why I’m pretending with you.”

Excerpt:

“Hey, Dorie,” she heard from above her. “Do you know where Fitz wants these bottles of water?”

Speak of the devil. Fitz brought her head up a little too suddenly, banging it on the underside of the table. “Ouch!” Her hand going to the back of her head, she came up frowning, and…

Oh, God, was he this gorgeous before? Had he always smelled amazing?

Doing everything she could to keep herself immune from his physical charms, she spun on her heel. “Back here.”

Very specifically not looking in Deke’s direction so that she didn’t give anything away, she forced herself to act exactly as she always did around him. Except she suddenly couldn’t quite remember how that was. Did she flirt with him? Did she flat-out ignore him? Did she generally just go around in a state of low-level irritation? Because right now she had absolutely no clue.

She had even less of a clue as she bent down to open up the lid to the cooler and he crouched down next to her, his head so close all he’d need to do was turn it slightly to the left and his mouth would be on her breast.

And was that…?

Oh, hell, no, her nipples had not just hardened. She slapped her arms over her chest.

Because they had. And Deke, with his superhero sex god extra sensory perception, had definitely noticed. He at least had the decency to look down at the ground as he grinned.

“It’s the cold,” Fitz snapped. “From the cooler.”

Pushing the bottles down into the ice, Deke just answered, “You’d be amazed at all the bits and pieces I can warm up with my tongue.”

Clean up your image—or else.

Single mom Chloe Adams is in Vegas for a rare girls’ night out. She wasn’t ever supposed to be attracted to another rockstar. In fact, she’s in rockstar rehab, and the cure for her addiction definitely isn’t a sexy, smart-assed guitarist with wicked fingers.

Pretending their marriage is real might just be the hottest proposition she’s ever been given.

But what happens when a lie becomes the truth?

Jennifer’s Review:

*I received this book free from Tasty Book Tours in exchange for an honest review*

Two people. One undeniable connection.

Chloe had the rock star fiancé and when he died all he left her was a son to raise all by herself. She wanted no part of that world anymore. Her sole focus was providing for her son. But her son’s godfather thought she deserved a weekend away with her girlfriends in Vegas and lets just say that they may have gone together, but they all left separately. Bet those friends have some stories of their own to tell.

Michael needed to clean up his image thanks to a crazed fan who happened to be engaged to Mr. Rich and Powerful, but never in his wildest dreams did he think settling down with a wife and step son was in that equation. Because of his parents and their many marriages he didn’t think to highly of marriage and he swore to himself if he ever did say ‘I do’ that it would be forever…even if he didn’t remember saying the words.

Chloe is sweet and hardworking, she never wants a handout, and would do anything for her son. Michael, however, came from money and due to his up and coming rock star career he has plenty of his own too, but he’s not the type of person who would flaunt it.

There are moments when I actually felt bad for Michael, because he had to deal with a ghost who still had a hold on Chloe. He is incredible and goodness gracious I wish men like him were real. At every turn he was trying to prove to her that he was worth her love. Her, on the other hand, I occasionally wanted to yell at for trying too hard at keeping her distance.

Bedded Bliss brings happiness out of what otherwise could have been a huge drunken mistake. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that we all like our bad boy rock stars, but we absolutely love when they’re hopeless romantics underneath all that rock god persona, and if you agree with that then you’ll love this book!

The only part I wasn’t a complete fan of was toward the end of the book it starts jumping – two weeks here, two weeks there – and it felt too fast compared to the rest of the book.

My Favorite Moment: Valentine’s Day!

Excerpt:

Chloe moaned. Why couldn’t she move?

Had she ended up with another Johnson sleeping with her again? Jinx wasn’t usually the cuddling type, but Ivy liked to spoon sometimes. She grunted and tried to wiggle free.

Was Ivy groping her boob? Okay, that might require a conversation about personal space. And seriously when had Ivy become close to two tons? She opened her eyes and immediately slammed them shut. Too bright.

Not good.

So not good.

Just how much had she guzzled last night? And her mouth tasted like death. Thank God it was Sunday. Obviously, she didn’t know how to handle Vegas.

A groan dented her personal flogging. Not a girl groan.

“Oh, fuck.”

No. No. No.

She squeezed her eyes shut so tightly that sparklers started going off behind her eyelids. She didn’t. She wouldn’t.

Flashes of bodies grinding in a dark room tightened her throat.

You can do it. Open your eyes. Big girl panties, goddammit.

Was she wearing panties? She wiggled her legs.

Sweet peaches, she so wasn’t.

Chloe forced herself to open her eyes and look down. Definitely not the shirt she’d been wearing last night. Was that Dave Grohl? Why had her boobs had grown at least two sizes?

Because a male hand was cupping each of them like she was his own personal rock wall.

She suppressed another moan when the man’s hands tightened. His thumb flicked over her nipple and it responded instantly.

“Oh God.”

He groaned and pushed up her shirt. “Round two?” he asked in a fuzzy mumble.

“Round none!” She kicked out and connected with something before she scrambled up against the headboard.

“Fuck me.” The man curled into a fetal position.

Dark hair and naked shoulders. Was that a tattoo? Was he naked under the sheet?

She didn’t wait to find out. She leaped off the bed. Not her hotel room. This one was bigger with only one bed. A lake-sized mattress with tangled white sheets.

She was going to be sick. She lunged for the bathroom, slamming the door and locking it before she skidded in front of the toilet. Her stomach revolted until there was nothing but dry heaves shuddering through her.

“Are you all right?”

No, she wasn’t all right. She’d awakened in a strange hotel room with a strange man. She gripped the edge of the bowl, frowning as something clicked against the porcelain.

She pulled shaking fingers away and flushed, then stumbled to the sink.

Her eyes were bloodshot, her pupils absolutely huge. Blindly, she fumbled with the faucet, causing another clink of metal against metal. She stuck her head under the spray to rinse away the sick.

She needed eight toothbrushes and a magic eraser for her brain.

Actually, not so much on the erasing because she couldn’t remember a damn thing.

How had she ended up here?

Why couldn’t she remember?

Where the hell was her phone?

Auto-pilot kicked in as she pumped soap on her hands. Metal clicked against metal. She still had on Snake’s ring. She couldn’t seem to take it off, but she’d moved it to her right hand.

That was only one hand.

Something flashed on her left hand.

On her ring finger.

Blog Tour – Review of Missed Connections (Summer Love #1) by Tamara Mataya

Missed Connections

Can’t Judge A Book By Its Cover

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Book Length (Est.): 320 Pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

Sarah spends her nights cruising Craigslist personal ads, dreaming of finding a romantic entry all about her. She knows who she wants, but best friend and regular hookup Jack is not the serious commitment type. Sarah’s stung feelings are soothed when she begins an online-only relationship, but there’s only so much of Sarah to go around. Torn between the bad boy she can’t keep and the sensitive stranger who bares his soul online, her heart and body are in two very different relationships… or are they?

Jennifer’s Review:

*I received this book free from Tasty Book Tours in exchange for an honest review*

Sarah has wanted her best friend’s twin brother for-almost-ever, but her best friend was more important than her attraction to his player brother. She’d never risk it…or rather she thought she’d never risk it.

When sex turns into more who’ll run away first…him or her?

Not only is Sarah now sleeping with the sex god of all her fantasies, but she finds herself the object of a Missing Connection ad on Craigslist. It’s someone she knows, and someone she grows very involved with…but is it the man she thinks it is?

With horrible hippie bosses who drive her insane and two love interests who both hold pieces of her heart Sarah will push her sanity to the end.

Fern, Ziggy, and Phyllis are just plain ol’ crazy. Blake is nice, Jack is more than he seems, and Pete is a pretty perfect best friend.

Call me strange, but I swear I was lost in the land of the psycho hippies. I bet over half the story was about the people Sarah worked with and yes I understand they were an important part of the plot, but goodness gracious they were starting to make me hate the book. As was Sarah’s constant whiny attitude. I just wanted to yell, “Suck it up or move on!” Oh and every single time I saw the word “Phucking” I seriously rolled my eyes.

However, it does have some steamy moments, both in person and online. And when the hippies weren’t involved I really enjoyed the story that developed between Sarah, her love interests, and her best friend.

Excerpt:

Has an elevator ride ever taken so long? The slow circles he traces on the back of my hand with his thumb have me debating stopping the elevator and dragging him into a stairwell to get him naked now, but the elevator stops on my floor and we’re so close to my bed.

Door open, door closed, shoes were on, kick them off. No stopping to ask if he’d like something to drink, I pull him straight to the bedroom and turn to face him. His momentum crushes us together, and I press harder against him, wrap my arms around and grab that tight ass I’ve wanted to squeeze for years and grind against him. This time when my lips meet his, they’re curled into a satisfied smile because now there’s nothing stopping us but clothes and common sense.

One down.

His skin is smooth and warm beneath my hands, which I slide beneath the hem of his t-shirt before coaxing it over his head. Kissing down his throat and chest, lightly grazing it with my teeth, I’m rewarded with his intake of breath and his hands finding their way to my shoulders. He pulls me upright and kisses me hungrily. One hand wraps around, bending me back like a cobra, and he tangles his hand in my hair, squeezing my body in his arms like he can’t get enough.

I want him on top of me. Now.

We’re riding the same lusty wavelength, because he straightens and pulls back. “Take your shirt off. I need to see you.”

“Take your pants off,” I counter. “I need to feel you.”

His jeans hitting my floor is the most glorious sound I’ve ever heard.

“Now you.” His order is paired with hungry eyes.

I pull my shirt over my head slowly to make him wait. When I get it over my head and can see again, he’s moved closer and stands only inches away from me.

“Hi.” His voice is a smoldering bed of hot coals I want to roll around in.

“Hi.” I smile. “Want to help me with my pants?”

His long, well-formed fingers curl into the belt loops of my jeans and tug me closer. “You sure you need help, beautiful girl?”

I trail my hands over the chiseled contours of his abs and up his well-defined chest. “My hands are busy.”

The pull of the button and slide of the zipper and cool night air greets my thighs and calves. He’s bent closer to coax my jeans down and his hair smells woodsy and fresh like a forest after a storm. I stop him on his way up, my mouth on his again, and how will I ever get enough of these lips, this tongue, now that I’ve tasted this forbidden fruit?
