True's Love

Genre: Romance

Book Description/Synopsis:

In this book we find promiscuous Amanda living the highlife; meek admin worker by day and wild clubber by night. We get to hear about a selection of her erotic night time adventures.

But she is surprised by love when she goes on holiday with her friend to Ibiza. The blonde bodyguard soon has her lowering her barriers. He shows her how much more there is to sex when the heart is truly engaged. But will this just be a holiday romance, will it lead to a long term relationship or will it end in tragedy? Join Amanda on her quest of exploration.

Jennifer’s Review:

*I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Amazon lists this as erotica, but I didn’t get that from this book. It’s more of a romance with a little steam.

Amanda is pretty much out for only a good time. Strangers: check. Middle of a crowded club: check. But for some reason the nice guy who wants her to go to breakfast with him…without anything between them the night before: definitely no check!

She doesn’t do relationships or anything that even comes close to seeming like one, but Michael has wanted her since the moment he saw her kissing some other guy, and he’s determined to get what he wants.

Pros: The storyline was good and the characters are likeable.

Cons: The book has hardly any dialogue. It’s more like a narrative and it’s all blah, blah, blah until a third of the way through. However, the second half does get a lot better.

My Favorite Laughable Moment: The popcorn fight.

“What just happened?” Mark asked from the floor.

“The big shot, highly trained security operative just got bested by a girl!” Michael laughed.

My Favorite Character: Besides Michael and Amanda…I absolutely loved Mark!

“You followed a strange bloke into a gents in a bar?” Amanda mocked.

“Hey. He’d just saved my arse, I kinda hoped he wasn’t going to try to shag it. OK?”

Review of Dark Love by TL Clark

21322211[1]

Genre: Contemporary Romance, Erotica

Book Length (Est.): 165 Pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

This book delves into the dark realm of Mistress Eigengrau, and the love that exists between this female Dom and her male Sub. This is not a book for the faint-hearted or under-18s as it contains graphic sexually explicit scenes, so strap on tight for a rough ride!

Jonathan (our gorgeous hero of a Submissive) has his attention diverted by another but it leaves him conflicted and confused. Can he turn away from the only kind of love he has ever known to explore new avenues? Or is it just a passing fancy; a light shone on a new world that ultimately has no longevity? Jonathan’s life is certainly about to get a lot more challenging.

Mindy’s Review:

*I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review*

I am not too sure where to start. This is the first book I have read where a woman is a Dom and the Sub is a male. But here we go…

Jonathan comes from an abusive childhood and he thinks he does not deserve to be happy in life.

Melanie Dunn is a very successful business woman by day. Hiring Jonathan becomes the start of their relationship. She takes care of him and introduces him to the submissive lifestyle.

Mistress Eigengrau is a very strict Dom in the comfort of her own home and Jonathan will do anything to make the one woman who he trusts very happy, including cleaning in costume, fulfilling any desire, and being a very good puppy.

Lucy works at the office with Jonathan and they have a strong attraction to each other. He knows that having Lucy as a friend will make his Dom very unhappy, but he just cannot stay away from her. Lucy is very vanilla in the bedroom and has no idea what a relationship with him will consist of.

“Well, if you’re going to get flogged to within an inch of your life it might as well be for something worthwhile, and he was never going to have this moment again.”

The author does warn you before reading. This book is definitely not for the readers who do not enjoy erotica or reading about the Dom and Sub lifestyle. There were plenty of times where I was completely shocked! However, this is a good story line. The advice I would give is to have the POV changes in their own chapters as they are very long chapters and could stand to be broken up.

My Favorite Moment: My favorite moment was when Lucy told her boyfriend off. You have to read the book to really get the “You Go Girl” feeling.
