Review of Lucky: Dark Irish Mafia Romance (O’Sullivan Brothers #1) by Rie Warren

“You. I want you.”

Genre: Romance, Suspense, Mafia

Length: 510 Pages

POV: Alternating First Person

Description:

He’s concerned with one thing only: ruling his mafia empire. She’s sworn off men—especially bad ones—for life. Despite their instant hostility, these two are on a hot collision course, and the collateral damage could be catastrophic.

LUCKY

I know all about being down on my luck but, right now, I’m at the top of the mafia food chain, and I don’t intend to let anything, or any woman, get in my way.

Then this broad appears in my casino. Prudence Knight is a straight-up hustler, a card shark who wins hand over fist, and I refuse to be impressed.

With her smartass attitude combined with the angelic looks, she’s begging to be controlled by a mafia man like me.

I don’t plan on taking it easy on Prue. Sure, she’s been through an ordeal, but now she owes me. I’m gonna find a reason to keep her for as long as she serves my purposes. Because, after years of being under my dad’s despicable rule, the only risks I take are the ones I know will benefit me in the end.

PRUDENCE

I’ve been known to be hardheaded and I’m definitely all about my independence. I bust my butt to earn a living and I have no desire to be any man’s pawn. Not even Lucky O’Sullivan’s.

Oh yeah. I’ve heard of him. Who hasn’t? The rumors, the gossip, the mafia myths. He’s said to be an unrepentant killer, and that might be the least of my worries. I hate him at first sight, and the feeling seems to be mutual until he makes me an offer I really should refuse.

Now I owe him, which makes this arrogant mob boss think he owns me. I’m getting in too deep, but at what cost?

Lucky is book 1 in the O’Sullivan Brothers Irish mafia series. No cliffhangers. No cheating. Includes sizzling hot scenes. Can be read as a standalone.

Jennifer’s Review:

*I received this book free from the author.*

Prue has learned to take care of herself and her sister no matter what. Meaning she’s had to put up with sleezy employers, learn to navigate the underground poker world (not always successfully), and take opportunities when they arise; even if it means working for someone you have a love/hate relationship with.

Lucky is the O’Sullivan’s eldest and the one in charge of overall operations. Nothing they do is legal, but they were born into the mafia world and recently with the help of the Russians (who are like in-laws) took it over for themselves. He, like his brothers, never wanted to settle down. He didn’t see the appeal to it. At least not until Prue started coming into his club. He couldn’t take his eyes off of her.

“Dance with me.”

“Why?” She looked at me in surprise, suspicion shadowing her irises.

“Because I’m standing in front of the most beautiful woman I’ve ever met and I’m asking you.” – I think I have a new book boyfriend. LOL!

The attraction between Lucky an Prue is so potent everyone around them can see it, even though they try to deny it to themselves. One touch will leave both wanting more.

Prue has secrets though, ones that can be dangerous to the O’Sullivans since they involve another syndicate. One who has no problem attacking their business and even their home to get the girl they want. But after Prue and her sister moved into Lucky’s compound they turned into family and no one messed with family. They’d do anything to protect them.

In Lucky there is a crazy stalker ex employer, a mother/son duo who bring a new level to crazy, a talented wheelchair bound sister who is hella sweet, an evil cat, family that shows no boundaries of their love, and two people who are utterly perfect for each other. There is action, suspense, humor, major sexual tension, and sizzling hot romance. It checks all the boxes for an awesome read and let me tell you…it does not disappoint!

“I haven’t been with another woman or even stroked one out since the first night I saw you down in the casino because I wanted every single load of cum to fill your mouth or bathe your pussy. Christ, I swear I fucking dream about the color of your hair.” – I don’t know about anyone else buy I thought this was pretty damn sweet!
