Review of Sarge by Bey Deckard

Sarge

Y’Sir!

Genre: Erotica (M/M), Military, Sci-Fi

Book Length (Est.): 49 Pages

Book Description/Synopsis:

Sometimes it’s just about being in the right place at the right time… with the right person.

Sarge is the short story of a burgeoning D/s relationship between two space marines stationed on an alien planet where an endless war drags on.

Sergeant Wilkes is a hard man with a long, celebrated military career. Brawny, tattooed, and utterly submissive, Murphy is just an interesting diversion… until Sarge realises he has found something truly rare.

Jennifer’s Review:

*I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Bey Deckard is easily becoming one of my favorite authors. His Baal’s Heart series continually wins me over so of course I’ll read anything he writes. Saying that…I have to admit although I love Sci-Fi movies I don’t typically enjoy reading the genre and this has not persuaded me to delve any further into it.

I’m not sure how else to do this so I’m going to break it down. The Military and Sci-Fi aspects were more of the backdrop, which for a short story is expected. We all want the romance part anyway, or at least I do.

“Sarge is hitting on me. There’s no mistaking the gleam in his eye, and I can see it coming off of him in waves. You could not have painted me more shocked.”

The Sci-Fi side brings new and interesting technology, which of course needs to be explained, but at the same time it kind of made me want to skip ahead.

Sarge and Murphy being military men shows in their demeanors, and what interactions they have outside of their quarters displays what kind of men they are. Murphy being the quiet man who could give a rat’s ass what anyone thinks of him and Sarge being the badass who could make a soldier wet his pants. Two complete opposites who come together under not so savory conditions. War on an alien planet.

“I swear to god, I have never made a sound like it before; half whimper, half gasp, it’s past my lips before I can stop it. Sarge sees the effect his words have on me, and he smiles.”

As for their relationship…Bey wrote it so of course it’s HOT. The only thing lacking is the emotional attachment. Sometimes it’s their and sometimes it’s not.

If you want a quick dose of a sexy military man on his knees before his superior with a twist of Sci-Fi then Sarge is the book for you.

My Favorite Moment: When Murphy shares his special abilities with Sarge so he can see how he affects him.
